My 03' Mods Thread
So off it went to the body shop for removal, fill and paint and I have to say, the body shop did an awesome job. I will post pics of the work later.
By now I had decided what things I wanted to do to the car The first thing would be to turn everything into LED technology. So the first LED mod was to install new Halo's in the tail, the third brake light pulser and a new Adjure backup light set with LED's.
As I researched the install of the Halo's I noticed some folks add drip seals around the lights. Well I had forgotten to buy some from Southern Car Parts and didn't remember until Sunday when I was doing the install. After thinking about it I decided to head off to HD and see what they had. What follows in my solution and it work very well.
This first picture shows the gap between the body and the fixture.
This is a profile of the silicone insulation I found. It is 1/2" wide and has double sided sticky tape already installed.
Here is the package from HD.
I cut the pieces into 24" length (you get 20' in the box) so you can do at least 8 lights. Start at the top of the light and keep the thin edge facing the rear of the red lens and adhere the insulation. When you get back to the top, just cut it off at the spot you started and you are done.
Finished light.
I put dielectric grease on all of my exposed electrical connections. But even after I do that, I still either electrical tape wrap or heat shrink tubing to further protect the connection.
Here is a picture of the light installed. Use a small amount of car soap on the silicone and it slides right in.
Left side finished.
More to come.....

I chose to mix the color of the pieces. Some cars look good with all the pieces the same color. My choice was to just have just "enough" yellow and mix it with some Carbon Fiber. I think it looks pretty nice.
