Last night I heard for myself the famous stripped headlight gear sound when putting my car away. I had read about this here and about the metal gears and came in and ordered a pair (if ones going the other can't be too far behind?) of gears. While researching the replacement procedure I read about the 15 minute 180 degree gear turn. I just finished doing it and now can use my car while waiting for some free time to install the gears.

This forum does have a wealth of info for us to do repairs to our cars. And even better are the forum members who are willing to share their knowledge or lend a helping hand when needed. It's great that you were able to do the temporary fix until the metal gears come in.
