Here's the kicker.....at that point, he had a '66 Shelby GT350, and back then, there were no rally computers, etc. It was simply sharp eyes looking for the clues, and a slide rule and pencil and paper, to calculate speed and time. He was a whiz with the calculations, and got a kick out of that, so he tells me I'm going to be the driver!! At one point, we were on some backwoods dirt road, and he suddenly calculated that we're about 30 seconds behind the "ideal time", so get on it! We're slinging dirt and stones all over, in a rare Shelby....
