I'm in the middle of another project but, since I had this stuff off, decided to pc everything. I ground, sanded and prepped stuff for powder coating at a local shop. Disassembling/reassembling the alternator is an adventure you may not want to experience yourself if you're not confident in your mechanical and soldering skills - a local alternator shop is a good choice if that's the case. I chose pc'ing because I will have some other polished pieces under the hood and I don't want to overdo the bling. I like subtle when it comes to the engine rather than over the top like some others prefer.
I knew this picture would come in handy in the future! I don't really like all the dress up kit covers to make ugly things (alternator) disappear. The black above looks awesome as does the one below installed into a truck.

Ed, you are always thinking outside the box.. and most who know you, know that everything you do it done with a high level of classic taste and clean elegance. I too am an advocate of this direction, at least in the engine bay. Its all about the journey, Ed and not necessarily the destination.
Nice work as usual.

This is great. I've never been a fan of covers and this is a perfect solution! Please post pics when you have them installed!
