well in socal there are a coupe of vette shops. i would recomend corvette mike in anaheim. they have a clean shop and is well run. the other one is coast corvette off the 5 freeway next to disneyland. been there a couple times. the shop is a little dirty but the mechanic know his stuff. so either shop will steer you well. and fun to walk around and look at the car they have for sale.
as for local events i havent been to any, but i really havent looked. there is cars and coffee sat AM in irvine. really exotic cars show up, but it is usually really early in the AM on sat. like it is usually done by 8 AM.
Cunningham Motor Sports in Murrieta is a vette shop that works on supercharged Vettes. They installed the A&A V3 Si supercharger on my 2001. There is also a vette shop in Escondido, but I can't think of the name. There are Corvette clubs in the Temecula Valley, Oceanside and San Diego, that I know of. A quick web search will bring you to their web pages.
The one in Escondido is Excelsior Motorsports. And I strongly recommend them over Cunningham.
Welcome back man. I live in Oceanside. The scene around here isnt really in clubs it seems, but more it the few race events around. Race-legal at Qualcomm in SD is a fun time and I can always be found there. Barona raceway is a popular spot. And recently re-opened Fontana's quarter mile drag strip, which I have not had the opportunity to check out yet.
You should check out race-legal. Plenty of vette owners show up. Fun night of racing and car talk.
