Default Driver side headlight help

I have H I D projector headlight housings and 55 W low beams. After a while, my driver side headlight went out. Switched the HID bulbs from driver-side to passenger side but driver-side was still out and passenger side always worked. I checked fuse 8, 9, 10, and 12 under the hood and they are all fine. Can anyone help me diagnose this problem so I can have both headlights working again?

Thanks in advance!!

From your description sounds like a ballast or wiring issue on the drivers side.

Ballasts are good. Switched bulb and ballasts from driver side to passenger side. What wiring issues should I look for?

Double check fuses again -- I had a similar issue last week and it turned out to be a bad fuse. If that is not it, grab a digital multi-meter and check the headlight harness for power (12 v) and ground (0 v).

How did you narrow it down to the relay?

Default response to your question

I checked the wiring, bulbs, the same thing you did. Then the only thing left was the relays, when I went to pull the relay from the harness, I noticed that one of the terminals was pushed up into the relay which the little fine copper wire was broken from the terminal, so I lightly soldered it . plus I switched the left relay to the right and it lit up so I did the same for the left and it lit up . problem solved . relay. Now if you turn the lights on and the car's not running only one light will light, but if you start the car both will come on . weird! So jw is sending 2 new relays. Hope this is helpful.

Checked the ground and cleaned it up. Still no go. Can someone tell me exactly how to check to see if it's getting power? Is it a relay? Fuses are fine. Step by step would be nice. I'm not too go with electric car issues but wanna learn.
