Default Sooooo P.O.'d

I got out of work and went to a little weekly car show on Rte 38 in Tewksbury, MA just now and the C7 "Bitches" were all too SNOOTY to even talk to me.
I pulled up in my 99 Coupe and they looked "DISGUSTED" that I even had the NERVE to PARK NEAR THEM....

Needless to say, I looked at the cars WORTH LOOKING AT...

If I wanted to see 2014 Vettes, I can go to the dealerships.

It was the '41 coupe, the '35 Chrysler, the '50 pickup with the TPI Corvette engine, or the '51 pickup with the 500+ CID Cadillac engine.
Those were the ones I spent my time on.

The ones with the C7s didn't even open 'em up for people to look at.
Just sitting there in their little circle acting all SMUG and ****....

Grrrrrrrr

There are all kinds of Corvette owners.
Some think they are a better person because the plopped down 65 grand, the snobs just don't realize that owning a C5 C6 or C7 does not exclude them from being an assholio and with some it just brings it out that they are.
You will find people who embrace the corvette community, and others who are not worthy to be a part of it.

Don't sweat it. Those aren't car guys. They're posers. They probably couldn't tell you how many spark plugs they have.

I know how you feel! Those with appreciation for nothing other than money and how they can lord it over others are NOT Corvette people!! As a matter of fact, they are not much of anything but a waste of space as far as I'm concerned.

I even got this type of treatment from a C5 owner and fellow gym member while I was between C5's one time. While trying to compliment him on his black coupe and comment on my last one, I got blown off rudely with the obvious but unspoken attitude of, "Yeah, you've never really had one. You're just a dreamer that's full of BS." I was highly offended and never bothered to try to speak to this individual again. Oh, well.

At that point, I had owned four 'Vettes over the years and had had to work and save very hard to get each one. Had also loved and enjoyed each one!! Something that person will probably never understand!!

I've encountered guys like this, and the car they own/drive had nothing to do with their attitude. They were just a-holes, with nice cars.

I rarely go to car shows anymore (with my 67 Camaro). When I do, I prefer conversations with guys who just love cars, whether they have one there, or are just spectators. I simply ignore the others, or keep the conversations short.

In another thread here, somewhere, I determined that there are "WAXERS" and "WRENCHES"...
I'm Definitely a WRENCH...
But then, NOT ALL "WAXERS" are bad people.
I've just been gifted with having always had somewhat of a gift at 'fixin' stuff.
Probably doesn't hurt that I'm a retired ASE Certified Master Automobile Technician.
372 days and I'll be a retired DOD environment Network GAWD...

But somehow, these (explicative deleted) just got my goat tonight.

Thanks guys, I just needed to hear (see) encouraging words from my peers.

Don't even pay them any mind...they'll be in another car in the next year or two. They may not even be aware their foreskin has crept up around their head that much.

If I had a Pier, I would be fishing..
retirement is not all that it is cracked up to be, there are many decisions to be made daily.. like getting up as early at noon or deciding to sleep in late every day. It can be a challenge.

Usually get that kind of reaction from n00bs. You know the type. They get the car but are oblivious to the brotherhood. Had an '04. Now in a '14. Appreciate all generations.
Just smile and wave boys. Just smile and wave.

I tried to talk to a c7 guy at a gas station, had the feeling it was his daddy's blew me off and he pulled up smoking in his vette! But needless to say I moved on once I realized he knew nothing about the car and scoffed at mine like it was a 82 honda.

What's funny to me is I peruse the C7 forum on occasions and you can tell the guys that moved over from C5 are typically Corvette guys and there attitude is generally welcoming of all Vette owners. But the pretentiousness that shows when a new C7/first Vette owner comments is painfully obvious...one of the common statements is "This must be from a guy that can't afford a C7"...

The C7 is a great car and I want to add a C7Z to the stable. However, my C5 will always be the "looker" in the family! I was parked between two C7s at the last show I participated in and my C5 did not lack in any attention.

I've noticed the same thing. I might add that many of the prior C6 owners have the same attitude of the C5 owners - much more friendly and welcoming. Hopefully given time with owning a Vette, the newbie C7 owners who have never owned a Vette before will come around. Sad that they fail to realize we are all in this hobby together.

Generalizations usually do not work.

I am both a "waxer" and a "wrencher" and am equally skilled at both. One does not preclude the other.

Getting up in the morning with nothing to do, going to bed at night with only half of it done.
