2.73 swap help needed..
Couldn't find the direct answer I was looking for in the search. Looking to ditch the 2.73's in my 04 and go with 3.42's at least, but my question is concerning the diff itself, should I buy a whole new diff unit or is there a ring and pinon set that will fit in the 2.73 case? I know it's been brought up before but I couldn't seem to find it.. car isn't daily driven and sees occasionally track visits, and won't be too modded until later, as of right now it's just a basic bolt on car with a stock TC, and the fall on it's face 2.73s out back

These sell for cheap too because they're stock gears.If you plan on racing or anything like that you might want to think about finding a complete used Z06 differential case and gears. The Z06 casing is a three-rip case that is stronger than that used in the coupe and the convertible.

Get the complete diff. The Z06 differential will also be identified as 3:42sp which means the gears have been shot peened. I would go with a stall converter while you have it apart. 2800 to 3200 stall is great with this set up. You'll need to get the shift points reset though.
