Default Memory problem

My 98 with very low mileage has this problem;

This topic may have already been addressed. Please excuse me if I’m asking the same question, I’m always in a hurry.
The memory for a 2nd driver usually doesn’t work. Sometimes does, sometimes doesn’t.
Is there somewhere in the computer or any way I may fix it myself?
Will I need to take it to a shop?
I live in the Chicago area, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advanced guys, Steve

Let's start with some information first. Have you put in a new FOB battery?

Not at home with the year applicable specifics but the early FOBs had some cold solder issues. Many times they can be fixed and I have that info there too.

Also, whenever one has issues we always say:

What exactly are your symptoms? If you push the button on the door for memory 2, are you saying that sometimes the memory settings show up and sometimes not? Or are you saying that when you unlock the door with the second fob, the memory stays in #1 or random? First we need to determine which part of the memory system you're having trouble with, the remote, or the door button or both.

Thanks for all of the suggestions guys
I can’t remember when the last time I replaced the batteries on either fob.
The first thing I’m going to do is a replace both batteries.
Than this weird thing called reading the manual I know it sounds
crazy, but I’m going to try anyway
I’ve never had a problem until recently. I decided to let my wife drive the car. I had so many stupid **** rules about how to drive it she went nuts. She bought her own 370Z so I would just leave her alone and her dive her own car any way she wanted. The corvette is basically a garage queen, 98 with 19,000 miles. I finally realized I was being a moron and all the rules are gone now.
If necessary I’ll just program all 3 memory settings to what she wants.
I really don’t mind spending 15 seconds to set it the way I use it, for the 1,000-1,500 miles a year I use it. It’s just a toy I don’t need it. That’s what I did, all 3 settings to my preference, nothing ever moved.
Whatever, it’s going to get used now and I’m going to a shrink to find out is wrong with me and get some pills to fix my brain.
I feel like such an ***, protecting a car that will just lose its value and SITS IN THE GARAGE  
