Is it just me or does 75$ seem a bit expensive for a car show? I know it's the best corvette show around but this had kept me away for a few years now and I can't help but feeling robbed. What do you guys think?
I think it's a great deal. You get three (or four if you go Thursday) days of admission for two people. Plus a t-shirt and other goodies. And all of that is before you consider what you get to see and do. How many car shows have you been to that charged you $25-$40 and they lasted from 8-3 on a Saturday? If you'll pay $30 for a few hours at a local show, how is $75 for three days at one of the largest shows in the world a bad deal??

Don't think of it as a car show, but as a weekend getaway.
It's the world's biggest Corvette gathering with more to do than there is time allowed. Well worth the price of admission!
The only people who think the price is too high are the ones who've never been.
I've never considered it a car show. It is a an event with lots of stuff to do and see, including cars. $75 is great deal. Depending on where you live, ride over for the day if you don't want to shell out $75. My guess is by the time you leave you will have spent more than that with all the goodies you will see. I always leave a broke happy man :o)
Personally for what you get and opportunity to buy discounted parts without paying high shipping cost I think it's a tremendous value. Not to mention opportunity to see up close some of the most desirable Corvettes in the world. It's a great value and fun weekend. I will say the food vendors are getting a little crazy in their pricing.
Sorry man, I have to agree with the others. You drive a corvette and your avoiding going even when you want to because as you say "I know it's the best corvette show around" over a couple extra bucks when you get several days and a shirt? Come on man… seriously? I just paid $30 (with an early entry discount) to an upcoming show here in FL and its a 1 day deal maybe 4 hours long and I get a t shirt and dash plaque and I think thats a very fair deal and it's certainly not Carlisle nor 3 days long. If you wanna go then go or miss out on the fun yet again over $75. Hell I spend that taking the family to the movies for 2 hours.

Do the people with cars in the main area pay more? I'm referring to the saved spaces for car clubs and special versions such as C4 Grand Sports.
No. That's all fun field parking. NCCC judging might be a bit more (I'm not sure off the top of my head) but that's the only thing I can think might be more.
I have been there twice, both times were loads of fun but I don't see how people stay all weekend. Me and my girl go, park in the fun field, see the vendors, buy some stuff, walk around the place a few times and leave, for us one day tops. If it's 75 for three days there should be a one day pass for maybe 40$ or so. I'm sure the majority of people don't stay for the whole weekend. I know other people feel the same way, when I went I saw a bunch of vettes parked outside in the general parking areas, kind of a shame.
Is paying to get into car shows an east coast thing, I've never paid out here in CA
That's because you don't have anything like Carlisle in California. The last thing Corvettes @ Carlisle is is a "car show". It's much, much more than that.

Ok that makes sense now. Sorry I didn't quite understand what you were saying at first. We go to quite a few of the IMSA races and always get corvette corral tickets but same as you my girl and I aren't going to go all the days. We go usually early on saturday mess around in hospitality tents, see vendors watch some race etc and leave late saturday night. So I usually get the 2 day passes because its only like $5 more than the one day and just in case we want to go twice we can. But never bought the 4 day. I suppose if the only choice I had to go was to buy the 4 day passes knowing i'm only going 1 day I'd probably seriously pause for consideration too.

I think a one day ticket is $13/person. That doesn't include parking, but you can always find free parking on the street within a very reasonable walking distance. I think you could park in the general corvette parking and still keep your cost under $40.
For me, one day isn't enough. Especially with all of the "extra" events going on. Burnout contest on Friday, Parade on Saturday, different seminars or walk-arounds, Corvette test drives.....the list goes on for me. But I can see if you're only going for a day, the fun field probably isn't worth it. To each his own, but like I said earlier, I've spent $40 for a small show that didn't even last all day, so for me, $75 is a steal.
I don't know. Very few free shows out here. Do your shows give away prizes? Or are they more of just cruise-ins?
Vendors and people showing usually pay, General public usually doesn't, All different types of shows and swap meets out here cause the weather always nice
