Jacking a C 5 ??

MC
To add to your request for information. I took three pieces of 2" x 8" lumber cut as you did with as much angle as my saw would do. On the bottom one I made it about 18" then a step up to the next one, again cut at an angle. The final one is just the length of the footprint of my tires and I added a stop to prevent running off the end. The bottom one is the longest one the other two you can adjust to length depending on your tires.
They worked well, the only issue I had was them slipping on the painted surface of the garage floor. I glued thin strips of rubber on the back and that worked like a charm. I think I have about a half hour invested in wood that was scrap. Works exceptional. I can get my jack under the front cross member and then lift. The rear cross member on my C5 is not a problem.

"I use a 2X6 to drive up on and then jack up the car."
2nd Post
"You drive up on them."
Knowing how many posts Bill responds to he was just stating the obvious and making a short and sweet response to the obvious.

I hardly ever post, but I do read often and Mr. Bill has helped me out
alot just by SEARCHING and reading different posts.
As YOU stated in your previous post. "Bill, Maybe I am just hard headed ( Marines tend to be that way)"
Just man up like a Marine, and realize you screwed the pooch on this one.
Written words can be taken many different ways and it looks like this time you certainly took them the wrong way. So drop a quick "está todo bien"
Just trying to "cut a huss", you seem to need it right now!
Peace on earth and within this GREAT Forum.
Keep Posting Bill We all learn from your posts and we all learn from using the SEARCH tool efficiently! :-)

You definetly took his response out of context.
I think if you were to review some of his previous posts you would realize your error.
Thanks for all your input Bill.

OP, you yourself asked the question in your first post, "Where do I put the wood" Now If anyone read that and took it the way Bill did, and for that matter , so did I, then I probably would have given you the same answer as Bill did. I really don't think Bill was trying to be a smart a$$ . If he would have said something along the lines of "put it where the sun don't shine" then yes, I'd agree he was being a wise ***....Just my observation.
