ok I just installed my lmc5, never had a problem but just did it as preventative measure, the colum never locked with key out so I know it had some sort of previous "fix"...anyhow I still have no error messages and everything seems to work well except im hearing a clicking in dash now sounds like something trying to engage or like a timer clickety clickety click ...anyone else hear this after lmc5 install?

The relays in the fuse box make a clicking noise. That could be what you're hearing.
vender did respond on a sunday hats off to him for sure, he said the colum lock wires are now disconnected so shouldn't be hearing anything from there, I disconnected battery and rechecked everything, upon reconnection of battery sound hasn't come back after 5 tries..i don't know why its gone but it is right now
Stupid question but, how do I know if the mod has been installed on my C5? I am not the original owner and the service record does not show a recall repair on it.
Greenwaltmr, just see if u can turn your steering wheel with the car sitting still and not running. IF the mod is on the car the wheel cannot lock at any time. This is what it is designed for to be able to enable the wheel from locking period. It install in the passenger footwell area, 30 minute job. Almost forget if U have an automatic trans. U don't have to worry with this mod it doesn't affect your vette.

Not sure this is correct. I believe that the wheel will turn without locking if the GM recall has been done. That's the way my car was. I installed LMC5 anyway.
My 30 minute job took 4 hours. Bad luck, for sure, but be prepared for bumps along the way that might or might not happen.
My 2001 6speed had the recall done in 2006 and the wheel would lock as originally designed but when I put the LMC5 mod on it would not lock, U could turn the wheel even with the car sitting and not running. I will defer to 8vette7, he is the most knowledgable guy on the forum about this issue.
