I would agree that from that photo, the workmanship looks good.

However, the sharp lines of the C6 do not match the smooth lines of the C5. I like both C5s and C6s.

With the money put into that C5 to make the front look like a C6, the person could have taken that money, sold their C5 and had a hefty down payment for a C6.

BUT the car is getting attention, which is probably what the owner wanted.

I think the workmanship looks great, and from the photo anyone would be hard pressed to say otherwise. Now the opinion in actual styling is another story. Not a fan of the hood, and could care less if he got rid of the bsm's (actually debated for a while about keeping mine on). As for the front bumper I don't mind it, honestly think it looks better on a Z than a base C6.

People here seem think this it's somehow sacrilegious to do what he did and I really don't see the problem. Yes it's C6 parts but who's to say he actually wanted it to look like a C6? Follow me for a minute. I hate all the non flip conversion lights for the C5, so perhaps the owner felt the same along with the flip ups on his Z. I've seen a C6 light conversion in a standard C5 and it looks like butt, so there's a chance he wanted to avoid that as well.

With everything else being done why not change a few more items ie hood and rear fenders. This may also be the reason he didn't get a C6; he didn't like it, already owned the Z, maybe like Joey from 9k racing he has his own shop and did the work himself. No one knows but people like to assume right away he's biting the next generation. Also regarding the argument about sharp lines....have you seen the rear of the C5? It drops off in a rather sharp manner so really having something similar in the front is quite complimentary.

Anyway it's whatever, I don't think it's that bad.

Personally I like it. Might not be what I would do, but I still like it. As for the cost, none of us have any idea how much it cost. Maybe he had an accident and insurance payed most of the bill. Maybe he has a shop and did the work himself. And lets all be honest, how many of us have done mods to cars that weren't exactly economical.

As for combining C5 and C6 parts, how many people here are using suspension, brakes, shifters, steering wheels, wheels, etc... from a C6? Is that any different?

I say good job! I hope more people do things like this (thinking outside the box) to their C5s. That only helps this hobby grow.

I don't consider making a previous generation look like a current generation thinking "outside of the box". This has been done for decades and the vast majority of them come out poorly. This one, however, is pretty tastefully done except for the over-the-top hood.

Im with you pete, i kind of like it - frc C6.

Would I drive it? Yes.
Would I do it to my own car? No.

Hood reminds me of a viper, too much going on. BSM has to go.

A stock hood would make it look much better. Not sure about the lip either.

I don't know.....I think building (or having built) something completely custom to get the look you want opposed to just going online and ordering what everyone else gets would be thinking outside the box.

Don't like it. Like others have said I don't understand why people try to make their cars look like other generations. Let the C5s be C5s!

Well judging it solely on it's own merits as a car and not comparing it to anything else, not even other C5s or C6s and I have to say I like it. It does so a high level of workmanship in the pics and well if I saw it somewhere I would be like, "Wow"! That said I would not do it to my own car but I'd sure like to see it, meet the owner, and shake their hand. Nothing wrong in my book with making a car your own unique statement.
