My 03 coupe won't start. It turns over but it won't fire up. Could it be the fuel filter clogged up or maybe the fuel pump? Can I pull the air filter off and spray starter fluid in the throttle body? Will I mess up some thing if I do this? Please help

Why don't you try pulling the codes on the DIC first and see if anything shows up there.

I'm not a believer in spraying starter fluid until I know what the cause of the problem is. Someone will probably be able to get you started on finding the cause. Do I understand in your answer above that there are not any codes showing on the DIC?

If there are no codes, try to charge the battery, it may be weak. Disconnect then reconnect the battery cables.

i just looked up the codes on the DIC. the battery is fine. i did drain it down due to trying to start is over and over. i put the battery on the charger and its fully charged now. yesterday i went to start it and it wouldnt at first. i tried a 2nd time and it fired right up. i went to the mall and when i got back in it it fired up again but died after about 5 min of idling. after that it wouldnt fire up again. im not an expert but it seems to me like its not getting fuel. do the fuel pump just crap out at once or do they slowly go out. how hard is it to change the pump?

If the fuel pressure is OK and you still have a crank, no start, your prior symptoms include those that appear with an ignition switch going bad.

That's what I'm thinking.

Please pull your codes again in case something is there. Don't assume something else could not have cropped up. You know the saying "when it rains it pours".

PS: Ignition switch is a strong possibility. I have the info at home for diagnostics I can post if you want to pursue. You just need to be able to use a voltmeter and we'll do some voltage checks at the fuses that the switch feeds.

I dought you have 0 codes when you scrolled through everything. Do you know how to? Why would you throw parts at something without a proper diagnostic?
