transmission codes after install need help please!
So I just had my shop install a built tranny and vigilante converter and the car feels like the converter never locks up. I pulled the codes and this is what I got
All current codes? Did you clear them and this is what came back? If so I'd check the harness at the connector. Look for any bent pins. If that checks ok I'd then look at a possible ignition issue.
Also ignore the first one unless it came back on. If so make sure your mass is hooked up correctly and not leaking.
With this many codes and what they all mean and all at once it seems like you have a pinched harness on the outside or on the inside on the solenoid pack!
(1) Check wire harness going to the switch on the drivers side of the tranny
(2) Make sure it is plugged in thoroughly
(3) See if it is pinched somewhere
(4) If not then it sounds like the harness solenoid pack inside the tranny has become disconnected and you will need to take it back to the tranny shop and have them drop the pan and repair it.
Just wanna update it turned out to be a couple bent pins in the harness
Not sure if the C5 applies but id guess it does:
My years as a Caddy tech learned me the following: GM PCM/TCM have whats called "adaptive learning". PCM analyzises shift points, line pressures, reaction times, etc and adjusts itself according to natural wear patterns. When we replaced a tranny you have to go into pcm & reset these to default (new), tell pcm you have a new tranny. A4 only of course.
Just a FYI & worth looking into on finding the bent pins. GL
