Seeing a coupe of threads on seat covers got me thinking.
My passenger seat is BRAND SPANKING NEW...well almost anyway.
The drivers seat looks tired. Is it worth changing out just one ?
What's the chances of getting a match between Aftermarket and OEM ?
Or............Should I just say screw it and replace the pair?

I don't know of any vendor that sells just one seat cover. You usually have to buy a pair. There's always the option of having a professional shop make one for you, but I think you'll find that you can buy a pair of brand new covers for what a shop would charge to manufacture just one for you.
I was in pretty much the same position, passenger side was fine but the driver's seat was shot. I just replaced both; the cost of the covers AND replacement base seat foam plus a seat rebuild kit was less than what I was quoted just to do one seat.

Many have complained that the OEM seat cover material is not the best. You may still be able to get an OEM cover for the driver's seat, perhaps through a place like gmpartshouse.com. I am not sure what OEM covers would cost, but if you don't mind the OEM material, it may be a cost effective way to go.
I chose to swap out my OEM seat covers even though they really did not show any wear or tear on them when my car had about 10K miles on it. I just wanted a much higher quality and total leather surface on the seats as well as some custom touches. I went with Vette Essentials and their color match was spot on with my OEM light gray interior. I can't speak as to how other seat cover manufacturers would do on the color match.
I have been very pleased with the VE covers and after nearly five years, they still look like new.
If your budget allows and you want to spice up your interior a bit, including better leather surfaces, I'd say go with an aftermarket set.
I'm taking my drivers seat into an upholstery shop recommended by a great shop specializing in Vettes - - -the guy is going to 'rebuild' the seat using new foam and stuffing - - -reuse my original leather since it's in decent shape, and touch up the left side edge where my abundant butt hits the seat getting in.
Many of these places can refurbish your seat for much less than replacing the cover - - check a few car clubs.

Ditto I did vette essentials at 30,000 miles and sold my
original skins on the forum for$400. Love the vette essentials
You might also consider looking at VetteNuts. Parts Taxi or another of the Vette recyclers. They frequently have virtually new interior bits, including seat covers, and should be willing to sell you a "driver's side only" seat cover to match the color/style you presently have.
Better than having to buy (and install) two seat covers. Now, if you're interested in changing out your seatcovers, that's a different story altogether.
