I'm looking at ordering some Zaino after reading about it so much on this forum. A couple questions I do have though... How hard is it to apply/buff off? Does it leave white residue and/or powder behind?
My whole life I have either used Mothers, Meguiars, Nu Finish, or Turtle Wax.... I want to try something different though and see if it looks much better.
I already know that I will scrub the car down with dawn and then clay bar it. I plan on getting the whole zaino kit to include scratch remover...unless someone doesn't recommend I use their scratch remover. I have several light surface scratches I need to try to get off.

It is easy to apply, I do mine by hand, Only takes a few drops per panel, Let sit 10 mins or so until dry and take a soft cotton wipe and it comes right off and doesn't leave any thing behind like dust or powder. I am sure you will be amazed with the results.
Mr.Bill
As Mr bill says comes off real easy - do not over apply you really only do need a few drops per panel. I tried Wolfgang products but I think I'm going back to Zaino - I preferred the durability.
I just received the whole ball 'o wax last weekend. Started at 7 am with the dawn wash then claybar, then the cleaner, then the primer and then the z2 and then 1 coat of z5. I was done by 11am. It was really easy to apply and buff. Use the terrycloth towel to buff though as the mf cloth was not as easy to remove the wax. Since then I have done 2 more coats of z5 and it looks great. I have a black car and have used meguiers, mothers, turtle wax black formula. Zaino is definitely heads above these in relation to shine and feel.
There is only one problem, the neighbors think I am obsessed. but then again, who cares what they think
Listen to Mr. Bill! You won't be sorry. I am sure that there are other products that perform just as well ie; Chadwick's, Wolfgang, etc., but I've been very pleased with both the results and ease of use of Zaino.
I can honestly say that the finish on my car not only looks great, but is smoother to the touch than a baby's a$$!
Excellent responses! Has anyone tried the scratch remover from Zaino?? I went to Amazon for reviews on scratch removers and the 3M scratch remover has the highest rating... BUT, Zaino isn't sold on Amazon... so it is hard to compare.
BTW, Mr. Bill, your car is one of the ones that really started to sell me on Zaino! My 99' is Pewter as well and I am now ordering Race Mesh after seeing it on yours!

The Z-PC Fusion is great, but you may need something more aggressive if you have more than very light halos.

I'm looking to get the Z-5 Pro for swirl marks and fine scratches. That's what I'm dealing with is some light surface stuff. There are three chips on the car. One on the hood and two on a head light cover. I'm probably gonna look at replacing the cover... but the one on the hood I'm thinking about having a body shop look at it.
I read from members on this forum that Zaino is a great product so stick with it with you are happy. Personally I use Chadwicks. Been using it for about a year now. Not much difference with Zaino. The minor difference is that you don't have to wash the car, then don't have to claybar it, then you don't have to use the cleaner, then you don't have to use the primer and then neither the z2 and/or 1 coat of z5.

LOL! No! Not a cop!!! Growing up, my father loved Donuts which in turn got me loving donuts as as kid. My father, coming from a steel mill decided he loved donuts so much, decided to build a Mr. Donut shop. Dunkin Donut ended up buying out Mr. Donut and he decided to change names to stay with a great franchise. I worked for him for many years. I never got tired of eating and making donuts! He sold the shop many years ago but I still love donuts as does he. When I got old enough to get out on my own, I started using the name Donutz and have stuck with it ever since!!!... NOW, I just wish he would come loose with some of his money and share I'm an aircraft mechanic and can't afford much!!! I got a great deal on my C5 and I don't normally live pay check to pay check... but after getting my C5, I've wanted to put more and more into it and I finally had to slow down so I'm not living paycheck to paycheck!!!
Nothing wrong with being an aircraft mechanic. Hopefully, they will always be in demand. Just take it from a financially independent retiree, if you're a young bloke, put some of your earnings away for your retirement. I believe you Yanks have something called an IRA. Don't count on the government to support you. Enjoy your Vette, but do not become "car poor".

A lot of people think clay bar is a lot of work, It is easy also, You don't want to put a lot of pressure when doing it, I use a detail spray when I clay my car, Some use soap and water, I just find the detail spray works great for me and I like the results. When I wash my car I only use a hose to spray it off and then dry it, Can't get much easier than that.
Sounds good! Mr. Bill... Can you tell me about your rear spoiler lip??? I'm interested in getting one! Stu, I'm ok with cash! I only buy cars with Cash... if I can't afford them with Cash I don't need them. But yeah, I always put money into my 401K + I try to save money every month! I've just currently go corvette fever! I go through this each time I get a new bike... I spend until I start feeling uncomfortable and realize I have to slow down!!!!

I am assuming that he now uses something else. I get the impression that some of these products give different results, depending upon the colour of the car.
If I went out and purchased all of the products that are recommended
on this forum I would certainly have one shiny car. However, I would no longer be able to afford to put petrol in it!
