AC evaporator clogged
I have the dreaded passenger water leak onto the floorboard and subsequently the fuse area on that side.
I've come to learn that I don't have the 90 degree drain elbow that attaches to the evaporator drain nipple. Also, I cleaned out all of my cowl udders (the passenger side one was actually perfectly clear). No success.
I've come to learn that my AC does not drain! I've ran the vehicle for 10-15 minutes, full cold ac blast, no drain on the ground beneath the car. I took apart everything in the passenger area, removed the foam protection underneath the blower motor, and tested, while driving (of course plastic wrapping the computer stuff) sure enough it was like a waterfall coming through and pouring out onto all of my towels I'd placed there, especially coming through on sharp left turns.
On some occasions, I've heard what sounds like a pool of water somewhere within the dash in the AC box.
With no where else to point to, it definitely sounds like the evaporator area is completely clogged. There is no elbow drain tube, and my udders are clear.
What is the easiest, most reasonable way, aside of pulling out the whole dash, that I might be able to clear out the evaporator? I think I've read someone using a mix of compressed air and garden water through a hose to flush it out, but I'm not quite sure how I would do this? I know I can access much of the box through the blower motor which has been leaking this whole entire time, especially on those hard left turns!
Does anyone have a system they've used to clear out the clogs? In the heart of the summer, wearing a suit, I definitely can't not use my A/C!
Thanks,
Mason
