Shout out to the mods, other administrators and, of course, the members of Corvette Forum on the day I turn over the keys to my C5 to its new owner, ending six years of huge fun as a member of the Corvette community.
CF was an invaluable source of information to me as a new Vette owner. It positioned me to buy and sell my car in an informed, intelligent way and it also allowed me to research the issues that'll crop up from time to time.
My experience was hugely positive and the CF had more than a little to do with that. So, thank you and safe miles, one and all!
Thanks, all. I would definitely do it again, in terms of value for the fun. Notwithstanding what it cost to run it and care for it the way it should be taken care of, I have never had a vehicle that retained its value as well as this one did, particularly after driving it for 6 years. I couldn't have leased a Yugo for what I'm out of pocket comparing the price I paid for it to what I sold it for.
For now, the replacement is seen in the pic... not a toy, per se, but certainly the nicest vehicle I've ever owned and better suited to our winters. If I ever get 3 bays again, I may well be back!
Retention value cannot be argued, thanks to the great recession when few were buying new cars. Asking prices for 13K 03 Z06 now days is the same as it was back in mid 2007. Unbelievable but fact.
Had a Cherokee and a Grand. Your AWD will pay off.
