I don't hate white Corvettes, however for me, white cars in general can be a little boring if they don't have the right amount of black trim to counter the white paint.
I really like white C5 convertibles with a black top and interior. It's one of my favorite combos. Then if it's modified with some black trim, screens, etc., I really think it looks good!
I also like the C7 in white due to the black trim, lower rear fascia, black air intakes, etc. As long as there is some trim to break it up, I think white is a great automotive color.
i think white corvette's are one if not the best looking color on a corvette you can have..it was my 1st color choice when I was looking to buy a C5, but after I discovered the Z06's were only made in one year (2001) and that it was not offered after that (2002-04) in white I was pretty bummed..so my second choice was silver which is what I have now...
Two things I can think of right off-hand that may contribute to a lesser interest in white......shows dirt very easily, and it's hard to get the gloss on a white car to really pop like darker colors do. As a matter of fact, I kinda had that second complaint about my last C5 which was Sebring Silver. It was shiny and glossy, you just couldn't see it except in certain rare conditions.
Now, my black one.......WOW!!!!! But it shows dirt even worse than white!!

White with the right combo of interior color and exterior accents looks great. If I end up getting a C7, white with red interior will be on my list of colors.
I don't know anyone that "hates" white but in general, white doesn't do as much for body lines as a deeper color can. Its tougher for the eye to see the contrast's between different angles on the body work. Basically it makes all cars look a bit flat IMO but the Vett can pull off white as classy!
