Slight burning smell on hard acceleration?
Getting a slight burning smell on hard acceleration to near-redline.
It almost smells like burning plastic to me. Not the usual clutch/brake smell.
Car has 7000 miles. Headers, intake, tune.
Any ideas what it may be?

Check the wiring around the headers make sure nothing is coming in contact with the headers. I would think you would notice that more than just during hard acceleration but it can't hurt to rule the simple things out first.

Are the headers newly installed? Reason I ask is because of heat wear in which gives off a smell the first few drives. Otherwise you may be getting some "blow by" into the intake, Common on the LSX series motors. Just toss a catch can in and call it a day

look around the header area. 5k miles is a lot, usually the burn goes away in a tank of gas
see if anything looks melted around there
btw do you have aftermarket cats? if the car is tuned rich it could be the cats melting
