Most beautiful Corvette made
Over on the C7 forum they are (nearly) all agreeing that the C7 is the most beautiful Corvette ever made. While it is ridiculously subjective, I would beg to differ. For me it goes something like C1, C5, C6, C7, C4, C2/3 (tie).
I like the looks of the C7, but it's not my favorite by a long shot. And but for the fabulous introductory C1, the C5's gorgeous lines take the cake in my book. Obviously the C7 is a great advance with its superior technology, but for looks? Great but not the best.
What do you folks think?

I myself do like everything about the C7, Sure the C5 is holding it's own, But in my opinion the C7 is a Home Run by GM.

The C7 is cool but it looks like a Batmobile. Lines are very sharp, and I'n not crazy about the rear end.
The C6 is OK but it looks to me like it was rear-ended compared to a C5.
The C4 looks dated. I hate the dash. Later models are passable aesthetically but I still would not buy one to own.
C1-C3? Each person has their opinions. C1-C3 are just too "old" for me. I do not like classic cars at all - just not my speed. Anything that screams "50's", "60's", or "70's" to me is just not my cup of tea.
C5 has always been my favorite. People told me to save my $$$ and get a newer one. I had to convince them that I was not "settling" on an older Vette. I simply liked the C5 the best. Sure...it would be nice to have all of the fancy interior technological appointments that the C7 has, but it's not a deal breaker for me. The C5 platform just doesn't look like a car that is over a decade old; it's not dated at all.

People are going to say whatever they own is the best, regardless of subject matter.

There are design features on the C7 I really like but there are others- like the rear body design and tail lights that I really don't care for. That said, if I owned one, it would probably bother me less.
For best design, for me it's the C2 coupes - - -63 and 67 years are tops followed by the 61-62.

I like them all. Some more than others, of course. We had a '58 in our family (my grandfather bought it new), I've had multiple C3's, and now I have a C5 (2002 Z06) and I am really enjoying it.
I would never insult another person's preferences, but I have my own. IHMO, the never ones are too angular and I miss the round tail lamps. Plus, all the technology seems to be a potential source of several nagging problems. The early C4's seemed to have more than their share of problems and I was never fond of the interior or the ultra-wide threshold. But I would still like to own one sometime, particularly a later C4 'vert.
It is a love affair with whichever you like.

We don't own a C5, but we have long felt that the C5 cars are the best looking of the generations. The C7 is a great looking car, but it does not change our mind. In fact we like its looks less than the C6.
No doubt that in capabilities, the C7 surpasses all others.
Our $.02.
We trudge on.

I have to add my 2 cents
I like the '68's a lot I think that body style was almost perfect in the way the car was visually balanced.
I get that same feeling with the C5's - very well balanced and proportioned design.
I like the C7's a lot. The technology behind the car is exceptional - but -
in some ways the C7 reminds me of the 458 Italia which isn't a bad thing in my opinion - but I think the designers REALLY dropped the ball on the rear of the C7. It has nothing to do with that stuffy Corvette purist opinion that a Corvette isn't a Corvette unless it has round tail lights. It just is lacking, for me at least an aesthetic visual impression of whats connected to the rest of the car.
Would I buy one if I had 80G's laying around? In a heart beat.

C5 definitely is still a very modern and forward looking car.

I don't like the earliest 'vettes with the "rocket" fins. The late C1s are gorgeous in a classic way, especially the ones with two-tone accents in the coves.
The C2s are a perfect balance between lines and aggression. I love them.
The early C3s are very nice looking, but got ugly instantly with the federally-mandated plastic bumpers. The last several years of the C3 are easily the ugliest Corvettes IMO.
C4s can actually look pretty nice if they have the right wheels and stance. I can't think of a single factory C4 wheel I like except for the ZR1s. The gimmicky dash has always turned me off.
The C5 is a great-looking car with the right wheels and dropped at least an inch. A plain-Jane C5 with stock ride height, BSMs, and wagon wheels ain't much to look at. Mine is a base coupe. Except for C5Z wheels, BSM delete and being dropped 1½", it's outwardly stock. It looks almost too smooth and curvy. It could use a high-rise hood to give it some aggression, but I like the stealth look.
I think the base C6 is too slab-sided to be attractive, but it's not hideous either. It's non-descript. I didn't really like the C6 until the Z06 then GS came out. They brought back the angularity and aggression that the early C3s had.
I'm mystified by the C7. It has too many angles competing for your eyes' attention. They don't really work all that well together. I especially dislike how the high black rear valence interrupts the continuity of the rear end. It looks awful on a light-colored car. Maybe I'll like the C7Z more. I'll have to see one in person to judge because in the photos I've seen they were just OK.

I fell in love with the sexy curves of the C5 when I was a kid. So I bought one! Love the chrome bumper C3's too and plan on getting one at some point.
Hated the C7's *** end since the renders came out.. "See one in person, you'll love it!" ..Nope!
