Leaky butt
Hi, I have a 2004 vett for years I have Had a Leak on the left axle seal, I was given prices from the dealer for hundreds of dollars ,all i did was replace the rubber disc on the vent, made it from a new tire patch. Leak fixed .I have not seen a drop of oil in 1 1/2 years. pry off the top of the vent with a flat head screw driver,you will find a light spring and the rubber disc about the size of a dime. only problem i had I was on my back in my driveway ,I had to do it all by feel i couldn't see,may be a lift would work better.good luck

Every once in a while I get some small droplets of oil on my butt..... 
....Nobody can find out where it's coming from. I would think it safe to say that maybe this is my problem as well. Can't see anything on the rear diff but I haven't been under the car for a while. I'm going to check this out. Thanks for the tip.
