The C5 was getting to be a chore to get into and out of, plus I got tired of picking my way into and out of driveways. Found a year end sale on a 2014 Camaro RS, V6, 6 speed auto. According to the specs I've seem it will do 0-60 in 6 seconds, only about a second slower than a C5. It's a wash for gas mileage, 17/28 but on regular gas. Color is "Ashen Gray"
I'll be looking for a rear bar for the understeer, and something to make the trans shift like something other than a Fleetwood Broughm.
It looks like camaro5.com might be my next stop. Thanks to all of the group here, it's been fun!
Aside from performance and visibility, definitely a cool car. I drove a 2010 SS and while the performance and raw feel certainly wasn't there, i wouldn't mind having one as a cruiser. Also, some people didn't like the interiors, but I thought it was really quite cool.
Good Luck with the new ride. I had one for a weeklong 1,300 mile rental before I bought my Corvette. Having had a 69 back in the day I really wanted to like it, but the poor visibility was a deal breaker for me.
Had a 2010 for about a year and really enjoyed it. Was Yellow with the black stripes and the twenty inch wheels like "Bumblebee" and was an awesome looking car. Others are right about the visibility thing though. It was like getting a chopped-top coupe right off the showroom floor. We have a lot of diagonal parking in my town, so it was really difficult backing out into traffic. You never really knew if you were clear or not!!!! Kinda scary!!
A 300 horse v-6 is a lot of power too. Never was disappointed when I mashed the go pedal!!
About 40 years ago I traded my 67 GTO for a 72 VW. I'll not make the same mistake with my FRC. I'm sure you will like the Camaro much better than I did my Bug.
