Are the memory seats and electrochromic mirrors worthwhile options? I mean, do you use the features and really like them? I have found a Z for a reasonable price, but the catch is it does not have either of these options. It also isn't my favorite color, but I'm not sure if the missing options should be a deal breaker. Something tells me that if it isn't right then I should pass.
I believe that's a $400 option-there are a LOT of Z06's still out there, you can find your color combination IF you want to! I personally love the memory seating-don't like to have to adjust the mirrors and seat each time I get in the car, and love how the seat automatically goes BACK to allow me to not bang up my vette on exit!
Actually, I believe there are 3 memory adjustments
I honestly like my memory seat and electrochromatic mirrors. I don't think I would have spent the money for this car with out them. I had a 01 vert with all options and still am missing some of the options that my vert had. But as you know the Z delets some options to save weight. My advice is if you are going to spend that kind of money get the car you are going to be happy with. I can't imagine those two options makeing the price drastically higher. Again get the car you will be happy with, it will cost you a lot either way.
For me, the electrochromic mirrors are a must have option. They really do cut the glare when you drive at night in traffic. Memory seats are nice, but I could do without that one because I'm the only person who drives the car. I'll bet you can find another car that has the options and the color you like...
I honestly wouldn't have bought the car without memory seats. I might be wrong on this, but I was assuming the car only has the easy-out feature if you have memory seats.
If I don't set the easy-out feature to "on," then I bust my hip getting in the car every time.
The mirrors are cool too, but not a deal breaker to me...
Color is interesting... I KNEW I wanted Pewter when I was shopping in 2000. I came across a Pewter coupe without Z51 and it did have AH. There was also a Silver coupe WITH Z51 and without AH.
I bought the Silver and ended up VERY happy with that color. So happy, that when I bought my 02 Z06 I got Silver again...
But I think I could have been happy with ANY of the Z06 colors. The Corvette looks so good, each color seems to bring out a different aspect of the car, and they all look great!
We had the Stars and Stripes run stop through here recently, and there was a MY, TR and EB car along with my QS. I kept going back from one to another - each time deciding that color was best for some reason or other, until I got to the next color car.
If you spend much time on a road course with multiple drivers it saves a lot of time getting to your race seating position. Push the button, strap in and crank it on.
Wouldn't be without either. The memory seats ($175.00) are great for 2 drivers and includes the easy out feature which moves the seat to its furthest back position when the key is removed from ignition. Love the mirrors ($$120.00) too.
Great selling points too.
Since it's also not your favorite color I'd keep looking. Good luck.
Seems the opinion is that they are both useful options. As usual, the dealer seems to be non-sensical about it. The no option silver Z is being offered at a reasonable discount. The dealer also has an EB/red (with all options) that he believes is worth sticker because of the color combo. Both are 02 cars. I guess I'll have to keep looking or maybe wait until some incentives appear on the 03s. It pains me that a dealer would rather sucker an uninformed buyer into paying sticker for a car than to sell it to a knowledgeable buyer for a reasonable discount.

Most dealers don't care to whom they sell. Only where the most money is at. Wave cash in their nose, then go belly up on the cash and insist on the same deal with one of the great financing options, ( like 0 down 0 % for 36 months ), and be prepared to walk if they do not accept the deal. Most dealers will tell you that they do not care if it is cash or not, as they get their money from gmac or bank anyway, but this is not exactly true. Try the cash in their face trick about the last day or 2 before the end of the month, or quarter.
Good luck

I got about $ 3.5 K off list, in Calif., yet. Not stellar, but darn good
