My car, a 1999, is insured with Hagerty. It is covered as a vintage car with agreed value. The rate is very good.
I think I have too low a value on it. If I up the value I require an appraisal. My concern is that the appraisal will document the performance mods.
Do any of you have experience with Hagerty in this regard?
If the mods are documented in the appraisal is there a risk that Hagerty will cancel the insurance?
As long as the mod list doesn't include nitrous I don't think they care. I know for a fact that if there is a bottle in the car they will not touch it. They didn't seem to mind insuring my car so yours should be fine. They only thing they didn't like about me is that my Daily Driver was too old (2002) so they wouldn't insure me unless i got DD no older than 07 i believe
Side note. I would be curious as to what your car is appraised at. I have been kicking around the idea of selling mine.

I had a HEAVILY Modified car w/haggerty. I discussed it up front, documented it, sent them pictures and had no problems getting the policy. I never had to use the policy but I did have it for 5 years.
I recently changed to Haggerty, my car is modded with heads, cam, etc and numerous appearance mods. They wrote the policy based on my suggested value and numerous pictures.

We insure cars with modifications all the time, including nitrous. You will want to account for those on a policy. If you were to get into an accident you will want those mods replaced like the car was. We would love to quote you all sometime. We are the National Corvette Museum Insurance Agency.
