I'm going to have 3.42 gears installed in my 98 auto trans coupe. I've been calling Corvette shops here in Orange County Ca and getting some strange answers.
Has anyone heard of people changing gears and not reprogramming the shift points? I thought this was standard. I guess maybe my car is just too old. Only one shop could do it, the rest said they didn't do that sort of thing... they will install the differential but they can't program the shift points. Seems strange to me.
I swapped to the 3:42 differential a year ago. Did the install myself. I went with a2800 stall converter. Sent my PCM to East Coast Supercharging for a mail order tune. They adjusted the shift points and tweaked it according to what mods I had. Check them out. There are a few tuning vendors on here that can take care of this for you.
