Hi Sam,
Got warm again. Hope it stays. So was able to get back to my car. if you remember, few messages ago I told you I pulled all the fuses from the floor box one by one but high amperage never dropped. Now I know why. This time I pulled all the fuses and circuit breakers then I was plugging one by one back in and measuring amperage each time. I found out that there is problem with two circuits – fuse 25 (BCM1 & IPC – have no idea what it is) and 6 (PK T/LP - no idea). Please advise what’s next. If you prefer please call me on 248 933 3959
6 and 25 in - h/lights, tail, contour, brake, dome on
6 in 25 out - dome out, the rest on
25 in 6 out - contour out, the rest on
6 and 25 out - contour and dome out, the rest on
Sam,
for some two months now I keep calling you with now luck. I sent
you amp measurements you requested but since then you haven't visited the thread. Please reply or call me at 248 933 3959
Tried to call but it just rang and rang, no voice mail. Not sure why I didn't get your messages. The wife does all that and leaves me a note. Maybe she forgot or somehow it got misplaced.
Anyway, I am going to try and go through everything again and get back up to speed.
Tried to return your call this morning but no answer. I have reviewed all the Posts. It would seem to me that you have an issue going on in the Multifunction switch or the BCM.
Clarify what you mean by Contour lights. I also assume by Dome you mean the interior mirror lights?
good talking with you too
As I told you I was in a process of removing BCM but I stopped to check current drawn after disconnecting BCM. I charged the battery overnight and got zero draw even with multimeter set on 200mA. Both fuses 6 and 25 were in. So now I have a dilemma should I replace the switch. By the way I think you were referring to the switch on the steering column but how about the one on the knee bolster? Or replace the BCM or put all back together and go to a dealer for a computer test. What do you think?
Thanks again for your help
Looks like replacing the BCM may resolve everything. Appears it is controlling things when it should not be. I can't explain the MF switch being the significant factor.
