Default Tire date stamp

I have the Goodyear Eagle OEM run flat tires. Where on the tire is the date stamp? I was told it was on the sidewall but I cannot find it unless it is some kind of code. Can anyone help me out

On my tires the date code says DAE0513 which means May 2013. Look for 4 numbers .

Because the tires are directional-the date stamp maybe only on one side of the tire-and will be only visible on the outside sidewall on one side of the C5.

My factory tires only had the date stamp visible on the passenger side of the car-without removing the tire/wheel assembly-if I remember correctly.

Actually, there should be a 4 digit number after DOT (not DAE), with the first 2 digits indicating the week (not the month) and the second 2 digits indicating the year of manufacture. Sometimes this is on both sides of the tire, but it may also be on only 1 side of the tire, so if you don't see it on the outside sidewall, you'll have to look for it on the inside sidewall.

OEM tires may be deliberately mounted with the date code on the inside. Not sure why this is done, but it may be to help a dealership to sell replacement tires before it's really necessary. Some people not only don't know how to interpret the code, they may not want to pull a wheel or crawl under the car to look for one.

The Bridgestone tires that came on my '08 Silverado only had the date stamp on one side of the tire and the tires were mounted with the date inside. My new Michelin tires have date stamps on both sides.

0513 would indicate the first week of February, not May, in 2013. It indicates the week (out of 52) of manufacture during that year.

Actually the DAE is after the DOT on mine. You are correct. It's the week not the month.

I don't know what DAE on your tires indicates, but that's not going to be on all tires, while DOT will in fact be on all tires.

Just saying there might be some letters besides DOT before the numbers. I don't know what they mean either. Maybe location of manufacture.

It's time to replace those if you haven't already.

Correct..these are 10 years old. They are my extras on the original thin spoke wheels.
I don't go far from home on these and only on a temp basis.

It's important for car tires, but is especially important for motorcycle tires. They should be replaced at 6 years, 7 at the most, regardless of how much tread is on the tire as the rubber gets hard and brittle with age and the tires lose their grip on the road. If your tires are loaded with tread at 6-7 years, you are not driving enough to own the car, or the bike, so send it to me. I'll use up the tires so you won't feel so bad about replacing what looks like a perfectly good tire, but is really beyond it's safe life.

I was simply pointing out that DAE on your tires has absolutely nothing to do with when your tires were manufactured, which directly relates to what the OP was trying to ascertain...how to tell when his tires were manufactured (i.e., the tire date stamp).

I get it. That's why I told him to look for 4 numbers.
