That DEPENDS....
On whether you believe the dodge hype or real #s.
The NEXT DAY after Chevy put out the Z06 #s of 2.9 and 10.95, dodge came out with Charger at 2.85 and 10.75 - .85 (or something)
Any of you that have driven high HP cars, KNOWS that you can't possible hook that much HP with that much weight with 295 tires well enough to run anything even in the low 3s. I just find it odd that every journalist that drives them, just quotes dodge #s.
That being said, this Z is going to one Bad-a_ _ car. Just wait until guys tweak them.

Why wouldn't it be faster than the Dodge Hellcat? The Z06 weighs 3524 lbs with 650 hp for a power to weight ratio of 5.42 lb/hp. The Hellcat weighs 4439 lbs with 707 hp for a power to weight of 6.27 lb/hp. I'd have been shocked if it had been slower. Z06 is the best performance car bang for the buck there is.

Don't buy yet - dealer markups will be astronomical.

I agree!
In racing, I don't care if it's horse racing, snowmobiles, go-carts, sprint car midgets, or Sports Cars; a few pounds of difference in weight can be a huge advantage or disadvantage.
900 pound difference in these two cars, is huge. And it takes a LOT of RWHP to overcome that much weight disadvantage, for the dodge.
Saying nothing of suspension technology, and weight distribution; both of which I imagine the edge by far goes the the C7 Z06.
Looking forward to watching this unfold, where the rubber meets the road.....
The big thing to remember with any of the dodge vehicles, is not only are they heavy as hell, which equates to hard as hell to launch no matter what tire is under them, but they also tend to suffer horribly with any heat soak... Much more than any other vehicle i have worked on and tuned... The power over subsequent pulls just falls off frequently...
Motor tend got 9.8@149 for the P1 that's around 22mph faster then Chevy's 127 Z06 number I think I've seen 152 mph somewhere but NOT 157, LaFerrari is 154...
Hellcat is NHRA certified at 11.2 1/4 on street tires and 10.8 1/4 on slicks. and $59k I find it weird when people compare a Dodge Challenger to a Z06.
