Default Winter Storeage

Well I took the Z out the other day for one last session of murdering the streets. Once again she didnt disappoint. Unfortunately that was the last drive for the next 3-4 months though. I'm wondering what kind of storage methods you guys use over the winter months? I'm expecting temps in the garage to get around 40 at the lowest.

My plan:

I have completely detailed the car inside and out and put a nice wax on it and taken care of the leather.

Ordered Drierite Disicannt packets for the interior and trunk

Battery tender (battery will be put in the utility room in the house while on it)

Car cover should be arriving any day I would expect

Ordering a car bag this week - maybe

Was going to park it on a tarp that is on plywood to keep moisture from coming up through the garage floor. Then wrapped up in the car bag, tucked in its car cover?

The 2 biggest things I'm hung up on now is what to do about tires flat spotting, and what to do as far as the motor goes? I've heard of an arrisol can (lucas makes it) you spray into the intake while running for a couple seconds while its running to coat the internals but i'm not sure I like this?

What are everyone's fixes for this? besides move from Seattle. lol

Just want to make sure my pride and joy is ready to go in the spring! (which will be an oil change, trans fluid, and diff fluid changes when it first comes out since its time for them anyways).

Thanks!

It does freeze. The roads get frozen and the car will be useless. In the garage is what I was talking about getting around 40's. outside it will be single digits or teens at night and then 20's in the day at the coldest. Plus it rains way too much. If I have the opportunity I'd still 'unstore' it and take it out. But that happens few and far between unfortunately.

Just like to take really good car of my toys. Like everytime I drive it I detail it inside and out. friends make fun of me, but all my stuff stays super nice! haha

I store mine for about 4 months in a garage that gets down to about 35 degrees at its coldest. I clean it good, top off the fuel, park it on carpet squares, put on the tender and forget about it unless we have some nice weather and I feel like taking a drive. Been doing this on this car for seven years with no problems. Undercarriage still looks brand new. Interior looks great as well. I do have to dust it off in the spring when I take it out.

You are only storing it for 3 - 4 months. No need to put anything in the fuel or engine. Just make sure the tank it topped off to help resist condensation and change the oil. Don't leave old oil in it for the winter. As for the tires, all I have ever done is increase the pressure to 40psi and never had a problem.

This does seem a bit of overkill to me, but what do I know. My Z is a daily so she will see the winter, Tennessee winter that is. I will stay home if there is snow on the ground however.

Thanks for the advice fellas. I think I'll do a happy medium and just throw a cover on it and then put the dehumidifier stuff in it and then park it off the cement. This way if there is a nice day, even if cold, I can still take it out and enjoy the thing.

Thanks a lot for all the input!

My cars trucks and bikes are my life and pride and joy. For fun I detail them and keep them perfect. I know it's a little OCD and analretentive, but I guess this is like my 'hobby' at the moment.

Yes if you guess I am a single engineer. Haha
