Default "Bubbles" on dash pad

Been meaning to post this for a bit but I keep forgetting...

When I was putting my car into storage a few weeks ago I noticed some very slight "bubbles" or "ripples" on the dash pad near the defroster vent. Can't see it from the driver's seat.

Not terrible at all but trying to be proactive. What steps can I take in the spring to keep it from getting worse? I read an article where it said to poke a pin hole in the edge of the bubble, use a dowel to get the air out, then use a syringe to inject some sort of glue...then use the dowel again to smooth it out. Any other (or better) ideas?

depends on if it's actually bubbles I guess that could work. I make sure my dash is treated with coverall from superior. It's a tire and interior dressing that keeps things from drying out, and protects it from the sun much like 303 aerospace. This year I bought a dash pad that fits very well on the dash.

I didn't think I would actually like the dash pad but now that I've had it a for a few months I do like it. It breaks up the interior somewhat and gives it a different texture from the rest of the interior even though it's the same color, black.

So again I guess it depends on if it's actually bubbles. But personally I would be afraid to poke holes in my dash because if it's a drying issue, you just gave it a place to separate in the future.

I do not have that problem on my 04 vert but if I did, I would first take it to a vehcile trim guy and see what he suggest. The problem I have had using any glue subject to heat, is it drying hard. Be cautious in your fix on the dash.

I would suppose what you mention could work, but you would have to be very careful on what glue and how much you use. I have heard of doing that with the arm rests on the door panels but not on the dash but don't see why it wouldn't work the same.

I too would consult with a good interior trim shop and see if they have any other methods that would yield good results.
