So his corvette is garage kept. Is it still necessary to have a car cover? Also, does anyone have favorites of high quality performance parts for under the hood? Precision turbo, jegs, TiAL? What are good brands?
It depends on how long the car sits. For me, I use a cover in the winter when the car doesn't get driven nearly enough. Basically it just eliminates all of the dust and dirt from the garage accumulating over the winter and means when I take it out the next time it'll be completely clean and shiny.
I would second the GoPro idea. I've been dropping that hint all year, but I don't think I'm getting one. It would be a lot of fun to mount one in the car for those "spirited" drives. I also would recommend the Corvette Museum. If you can make a long weekend out of it, it could be a lot of fun. Especially if you could make the drive in the vette.
Radiator cooling fan doesn't come on unless ac is on or temps reach 235 degrees. This item allows u to turn fan onwith a push of a button to keep engine cool while at long redlights, or extended iddling. Vets normally run at high temps anyway, this allows u to control temps.
Ok. Makes sense. That sounds like something he might be interested in. I will look into that. Thank you

Aww. Boo... I hope you do get one! Yeah, I'm sure he would love that. I think that's a great idea. He would love to be able to show people the videos. Also, that is a good point about the car cover. Thank you
A little over your budget you gave us but well worth it
I just found the perfect gift for him at autotrader...
"This 2002 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is a steal, with comforts such as power door locks, tachometer, and power windows. Aside from an 'Active Handling' message on the instrument panel, drivers might not even realize they've been assisted."
I just installed a partition in my Z06 and love it, i can finally carry a beverage and it stays put plus I can put thing with out them flying in the trunk
other options
halo led tail lights
front splitter or side skirts
drag radials (sound like he will use them)
slp rear spoiler
replacement seat covers (if his are worn)

just some thing that to mind
Awesome ideas! I'm not sure the last time he put tires on it so that might be a really good one! Thanks.
Shift ****
Shifter boot
Arm rest cover
Rear partition as has been said
Window Tint is it's not already tinted and legal in your area
Corvette Sun glasses
I didn't read the entire thread so sorry if these are repeats

Covers are overrated. A car collector once told me high quality cotton sheets are the best things for covers. Easy on, easy off, takes up little space and inexpensive. And you can get them in about any color to match the car.

If the car is parked inside.
Well that does make sense about the sheets. Thanks for the suggestions.
I am going to look around the shop this weekend to see if I can find any more clues. Maybe he will give me some hints too. I hope I can make him happy with something.
Ook guys. He mentioned something about wanting an anti lag this weekend. He said supercharged cars don't normally need one but he wants it for the sound that it creates. Thoughts??....
basic terms its a valve placed on the psi side of a FI engine that opens when the TB is closed (lifting for shifts) and routes the pressure to the exhaust in front of the turbo to keep it spooled

not sure how it would work on a SC engine though
I'm not totally sure how it would work on one either. He said they are mainly for turbo cars to help with the lag. I said "well what would that do for you since superchargers don't lag" He said It would sound and look cool... Sounds like him.
I looked them up and it seems like they aren't the easiest things to track down. Also looks like they're about $600.
Problem is you can get many different valves that are designed to give a different noise so... what if the one you get gives the wrong sound?
BTW the car in the video is supercharged as well
