My boyfriend has a 2003 supercharged Z06. His birthday and Christmas are both coming up close together. I would love to get him something completely awesome for his car, something he would appreciate. I should be able to answer any questions you'd have about his car if need be. I would hugely appreciate any thoughts or ideas you guys have. Maybe about $400 or less...
Thanks guys, those are all good suggestions. I was planning to get him a driving experience at the racetrack, but the one around here doesn't have availability until next September. Now, I'm trying to regroup and come up with something else.

Get him a motel room key. Put it inside an envelope, with a note promising that 'within the walls of that room', all his fantasies WILL come true!
Put the key and envelop on the console of his Z06.

Where are you located?
Even if they don't have availability until next year, a track experience is worth the wait --- My wife got me one for my birthday (February) a few years ago, and I had to wait until fall to do it .... it was well worth the wait... although I don't think you'll get one for $400
a few corvette-related things I have gotten over the years that I appreciated:
a framed picture of wife and kids in front of the vette
radar detector
a new head unit -- if he has a stock radio, check out DD on this site -- he sells complete systems,. If you get a DD (double din -- twice the size of the stock radio with a touch screen/nav), you need to replace the bezel, which DD provides. VERY VERY slick. But, again, more than $400
I don't know where you are, but a tour of the corvette museum in Kentucky along with a tour of the GM factory where all 'vettes are born was an AMAZING gift. Definitely under $400, but depending on where you are, airfare could set you back.

You might want to list what he already has done to the car - could eliminate some suggestions that may be coming.
As mentioned earlier, a car cover, if he doesn't already have one, is a great gift. If he doesn't already have one and doesn't drive the car on a regular basis, a battery tender plus is a good gift to keep the battery charged. A set of Lloyds floor mats is a good gift.

I am in South Carolina, so Kentucky isn't that far, about a 7 hour drive. That would be so great!! Only thing is he works out of town so when he does come home, we barely have any time for ourselves. Maybe I could plan a surprise trip up there when he is off over the summer. I'm glad to hear the driving experience was good!! I will definitely still keep it in mind. & the double din is a good idea he has mentioned getting one of those before. Thank you.

He'll remember that, forever.....
Or, a day at the track's okay too, I suppose.....
Haha. That is a good idea. I'm sure he would be pleasantly surprised.

when I went to bowling green with my wife, we got a fairly cheap flight ($200/ticket, from NY), and a very inexpensive, yet very nice hotel ($120/night)... we had a great time ... even if you drive up, you get to have "alone time" on the drive. Take it slow, stop along the way, etc. etc. Any 'vette guy is going to absolutely love the tour.
But between the two, I'd have to say I'd probably appreciate the track day more :-)
Roll cage or short throw shifter are both under $400.
Stop Tech Steal brake lines and pads and under $400 and will improve track times.
as well as safety.
Could get one Fx-Pro1 seat for driver side.
A lot of our helmets have just expired.
Can get a new helmet painted to match for under $400.
If you buy him any clothing items & new misc Vette stuff google the NCM store (National Corvette Museum). Very reliable people there.
For his car I can recommend the Carbon Fiberfront center console sold by TKO Performance. 800-778-9898 or www.sales@tkoperformance.com Just that one. Too much CF inside detracts but this one piece is very nice. If he has factory radio. If not, skip this for now. It replaces the solid color forward console that is vertical and goes around the radio and center controls in front of the shifter.
You can glance a pic of it in my thread, post #14 takes you to it. It looks a bit like snake skin. Much nicer than any pics.http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=3516943 and you're allowed to drop a hint if you want the M-Benz for X-mas haha
I guess we need to know if he is performance driven or a show guy.
I figured since he has a super charger he is more about go.
I would have no interest in carbon fiber on the inside of my car.
but some guys are saving there money to dress up the inside.
If you are more into buying clothes and he is a racer, fire suite, racing shoes, driving gloves are
all very nice and actually on my Christmas lists. I have everything I mentioned in the first post.

+ 1 on all of these -- I completely forgot. A good indoor car cover can be around $300, a battery tender is a must-have if he doesn't drive regularly, and Lloyd's matts are almost a necessity they look so good.

That thing does look pretty bad a**! He's done a lot of changes under the radio for boost switches and such so I don't know if I would work. It is cool though. I will definitely look into the NCM store. I had planned to get him a tshirt or two just because. He is very picky about clothing. Haha. But I bet I'll find something there.
I would love to have that benz for Christmas! Somebody needs to tell him how much effort I'm going through to get him a good gift. Lol

Very nice ideas! He is really into souping it up and making it go fast. Anything that ads hp has his name written all over it. The engine has blown twice. Just had it rebuilt again recently. I wish I knew enough about what happened to know how to keep it from happening again. He mostly drives on the street but has taken it to the drag strip a few times. Don't get me wrong, he loves that thing and puts plenty of time and money into making sure it looks good too. What do you get the guy who just buys what he wants? Haha
So his corvette is garage kept. Is it still necessary to have a car cover? Also, does anyone have favorites of high quality performance parts for under the hood? Precision turbo, jegs, TiAL? What are good brands?
