How long did you leave it on the battery? I usually hook it up and make sure it's green the next morning..

Maybe time for a new battery? Or, time to have it tested maybe?

Check the inside of the car for any lights that may be on, especially the underhood light or glovebox. There may also be an open circuit somewhere; power seat relays are notorious for that. Does the car have an aftermarket radio? Any amps? Does the engine turn over quickly and start every time you try (starter not slowing down or sound labored)?

What is the battery voltage? Check it using a digital volt meter. Or simply turn the ignition to ON without starting the engine and read the voltage from the DIC. Then post it here.

It could be that the battery is going bad; maybe a dead cell, internal short, or something similar. I would take the battery out and take it to a shop to have it charged and then have a load test done on it. That will determine the overall condition of the battery and whether or not it may have to be replaced.

Checked for anything on the only thing I seen was the secutity light was on and the DIC said 11.5 this is a new Delco battery

The green light won't go on until the battery is fully charged. You may have to charge the battery with a normal charger first if it's too low for the tender to top off. Being a Corvette should have nothing to do with the battery charging. I don't know how long you left it, but I had to leave mine on overnight plus a little with a brand new battery I installed the same day as the tender. The light turned green about 14 hours later.

Sometimes it does take a while for the green light to appear. A new battery should be OK, but sometimes even the new ones have problems. If you hook the tender back up and leave it overnight and the green light still does not appear, have the battery checked.

If your hood is opened you are probably drawing a little power from the light. Try taking the bulb out.

I agree with this. It's easier to unplug it. With the hood open you will see the plug from the front between the front of the hood and the front facia. I leave mine disconnected.

Do you have the Battery Tender or Batter Tender Jr.? I have both. Hooking up the Battery Tender Jr. it is not uncommon for me to sometimes wait 2 days before the green light will come on due to the much slower rate of charge. For some reason I have an older Tender Jr. that works much faster, but the newer one is slow as molasses to bring the battery up to charge, but it eventually does.

The Battery Tender Plus only puts out 1.25 amps and will take forever to fully charge up your battery. It may have to stay on a few days to bring it up from 11.5V to a fully charged state of 12.6-12.8V. That is not the optimal thing to use to charge up an automotive battery, better for a smaller motorcycle battery than for a car, but it will just take some time to do it's job. More akin to a battery "maintainer" than a charger, for a full size automotive battery. Your battery is probably fine, just the charger rate is really low.

Another question for you? If this is a new Delco battery, why is it reading 11.5V? Did you or the dealer check the voltage before you put it in? Have you had problems with a dead battery in the car before? How long has the car been sitting, ie, when was the last time you drove it? If the Battery Tender is able to bring the battery up to full charge, and keep in mind this is going to take a few days if it will do it at all, and if the voltage keeps dropping over a few days after it gets brought up to full charge, then you will have to check for a current draw somewhere.

This happened to my C5 and it means the battery is on its way out. You might as well consider buying a new one during the winter.

Don't do anything drastic. It's not unusual to read 11.5 on the digital readout. Measure at the battery with a voltmeter. As I said before, it will take a while to get the full charge with a tender. Wait till tomorrow and see if it turns green and report back.

The way to test a battery is to fully charge it and then put it on a load tester, before you just go out and buy another one. Any battery place or auto center will do that for free because if it's bad, then they can sell you a new one.

Light should go out on it's own after 10-15 minutes, another urban legend that it stays on.

When I hooked up mine, the yellow charging light came on, which surprised me a bit
The next morning it was green.

I think the battery is only a couple years old.
