Sure would be nice to know what is really going on and if there will really be any help for early gen Pfadt coilover owners. I have $1100.00 invested in coilovers I may never be able to use, bought just weeks before the shutdown. I sent an e-mail to AFE Power last week when their announcement came out and so far no response, just like I got from Pfadt.
Vendors who don't respond to e-mails have always mystified me.

in my opinion they should have attempted to do this before coming back on here and offering parts for sale... surely there is a record somewhere of everyone that was involved with that fiasco so there's really no excuse why it shouldn't be handled unless they just don't care... I had a brand new leaking coilover that I was trying to get fixed right on the hind leg of them going under and didn't anticipate them coming back so fast so I had it fixed elsewhere and have since sold them... I hope my motor mounts and diff mount hold up as they have worked well so far... in the future I will go with a more reputable company that stands behind it's products and customers and doesn't leave them hanging out to dry

I remember your situation among others as I was trying to get replacement parts for a set of used ($1100.00) coilovers I bought just weeks before the shutdown. I have been looking for other sources for replacement bushings for the past year with no success.
My position is that what happened to everyone sucks and need to be made whole if possible. However I know for that to ever happen, the new owner/management has to get a shuttered operation back up and running to be able to fund these problem issues. If the new owners, aFe, are serious about the Pfadt brand they will see the need to do all they can to fix the problems. If not, they won't be successful anyway.
I understand the decision to pull the posts of aFe promoting the Pfadt line. But at the same time it was an open line of communication with the Corvette community that could have been used to everyone's benefit. At least that was my hope before the plug was pulled.
What has surprised me the most about all this is reading the posts in the autocross section and the level of problems and dis-satisfaction with Pfadt products by many users. Most of the reading I had done on the C5 general board was very positive and thus my decision to go with Pfadt. I still have some hope I haven't bought some $1100.00 garage wall art.

But here is the catch 22. In business you need capital coming in to support expenditures. So the more cash flow the better, they will be/ are more equipped to help people they took under wing from a entity they never made a dime off of. I don't want to sound hypocritical as I never spent a dime with Phdat as you did but in the end if the new management makes it right that's as good as it can get in my book.
We all here drive Corvettes. I still shake my head every time I hear someone say " I will never buy a car from government motors" good I say maybe I can buy a 2015 Z06 at sticker somewhere

you would be surprised how many people either don't post their experiences or things get brushed under the rug until something catastrophic happens like in this situation and once they are no longer a vendor then they are no more than regular members like you and I so the things people say about them doesn't mean as much at that point so that's where the real truths start coming out which is good because we need and deserve real honest opinions/experiences so we can make more informed decisions about what we buy... it's just too bad that it has to get to that point before people start speaking up because by that time it may have been too late

this is true but on a moral standpoint it just isn't right... I am not a business owner but putting myself in pfadt's shoes there is no way I could feel right with myself until everyone was taken care of before I started moving forward again... I have heard of companies offering a lifetime warranty on a product only to go under and come back later on under a different name to avoid all the warranty claims... legally they can probably get away with it but that just isn't right... I'm not suggesting that this is what pfadt is doing I just had it on my mind... on another note, our cars were made and paid for long before it became government motors so we aren't supporting that, now the c7 owners on the other hand.......
The moderators and Internet Brands came to the decision to not let AFE post any Pfadt related product threads at this point. And as one of those former Pfadt customers who was left hanging at the end, I don't think it's a horrible idea. I think they need to make things right with guys like me before that happens. I've been in contact with the president of AFE (who is now Aaron Pfadt's boss), and it sounds like they want to do just that.
I'll admit, though, that my confidence in their products is at an all time low. Unfortunately, the stories I've been hearing here about the suspension parts breaking match those that I've been hearing for years from the local race shop I use for my dyno needs.
I've been sitting on a set of basically worthless headers for almost the last year now. I love the overall design, but the details and build quality leave a lot of room for improvement. 02 sensor bungs in the wrong spot, primary tube hitting steering, etc.
My hope is that under the watch of AFE, these product and customer service problems will be things of the past. I've relayed my concerns about the later header design to AFE, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he is looking into said issues, and not just firing up production using Pfadt's old jigs and fixtures.
Anyway... I'm probably one of the first forum members on AFE's "list" to be made whole on this. I'll be sure to let you all know how it turns out.
