I don't know why I never listen to anybody. Sometimes I get so focused on an idea I become blind to perspective. I almost cannot stand to look at my car now because of how upset it makes me regretting what I did to my beautiful car. I am very disappointed in the way this turned out.
Don't lose the Corvette faith, you can always make changes and correct. With that color combined with the stock bumper or a Tigershark, stock headlights w/projectors (or not), and maybe change the color of your wheels to a bronze or gold color, and I think you would be back in the game. We all have made a upgrade that didn't suit everyone. I for one like certain style wings and have received lots of compliments on mine, but it's not for everyone. Like the earlier post from the OP that has the white coupe, I thought the wing design he had made his coupe look nice, but now without it, it makes you focus at his tire/wheel combo that made him have to jack up the ***-end so high that he doesn't tear up his fenders (60-70 style). So how we mod our cars is speculative, but you tried to take one of the most beautifully designed Corvettes if not the best, and added a angular nose to a round and smooth designed body. Remember, the Mona Lisa was not Picasso's first work !! Good Luck !!
. . . I almost cannot stand to look at my car now. . .
Don't be so hard on yourself. Kindness includes dealing with yourself.
Am sure we have quite(!) a spectrum here, when it comes to how much thinking, and then executing, what we do to personalize our cars. Doing something, even if it doesn't quite turn out as hoped, is better than doing nothing. How many can say they've batted 1000 WRT to their mods. 100 years from now. . . peace <3
You need to bring that rear end down; there are other guys here running that exact same wheel without rubbing the outer fender, as the wheels come in as you go down.
When I first got my c5 it had the same exact spoiler you have.
LOVE a white C5 and I think the first spoiler looks perfect. It's not for everyone, though. Of course, I love my spoiler as well; mostly because it is different from the other spoilers on 'vettes. Seems the are so many of the smaller spoilers that I just didn't want another "me too" look. i like when the cars a parked near each other at a club event there is some difference between the 80% with small spoilers and mine. I wouldn't have gone any bigger, though.
As a friend on a Harley used to say, "I am unique, just like all the others."
Here's the rest of the story. The reason I created this monster was because I had loaned my car to a company that manufactures aftermarket, aerodynamic parts. They wanted to use my car to test fit new products/molds (to fit a C5) they are considering putting into production. In exchange for the use of my car for a couple of weeks they gave me all the pieces of the kit. They even installed all the kit pieces themselves and wrapped my OEM parts up in bubbles.
I think the results are a lesson in what not to do in terms of customization. The fitment is bad (the manufacturer installed it.) I could provide detailed criticism but the fact that many of you identified a few glaring issues from just the pics I posted says enough.
I took some pictures before I taped down the wing and agree it looks better without. I know none of this has any function but I just thought it would.be incomplete to an aero kit without some sort of wing.

You could have done a lot worse than the C6Z-style wing you installed... the most glaring aspects I see are those headlights and the clash between the lines of the ZR1-style fenders and the C5 BSMs

I completely agree, but as always its just one persons opinion for what its worth.
Hey brother... take a deep breath. You've taken some risk..sometimes the only way to find out is to TRY it. You did. So undo some of what you don't like.
I think if you redid the headlights to stock and take off your BSM it would improve your look...
Your doing fine...don't panic.. It's ok.
Losing the headlight and the BSMs (if you are going to keep the strakes in the coves) would help the most. Don't understand wings, they perform a function on a high speed race car, but they still look like crap. Sometimes a minimal spoiler works, but the C5 does not really need it IMO.
Like the new spoiler you put on now I think that's the zr1 style. But yeah lose the headlights. Go For radioflyers headlights if you don't like the popups. Looks like they sprayed your turn signals??

I think what you're experiencing is what ET was referring to regarding the look being overstated. The C5's original design is a harmonious blend/balance of form and function. IMHO there are certain modifications that significantly alter that balance. I believe the front clip on yours is the mod that really tipped the scale for me. While I don't care for the headlights or that spoiler, it seems like the front end is what really makes the car look out of balance; bulky and kind of "kit car-ish".
The good news is that you can always return it to its stock design if you're so inclined, and just chalk this up to an "experiment in design".
... So this took a little more effort here lol. You have most of the elements here; you just need to get some color cordination/breakup going, fix that nose/lights and get the stance proper. Get the wheels in a gloss black, offset color lugs, bright caliper (gold), matte black skirts/wing, black halo, ditch the BSMs, and smoked markers. Looks 100x better imo and wouldn't be too hard to do
