Default Wing or No Wing?

I just put on new bumpers, skirts and a lip. I'm not sure if I should add a wing or not. I was thinking a square gt style wing would look cool, but I really prefer an understated look and think that a big, high wing might be too much. Any opinions?

Also, I'm not sure why everyone seems to hate on the "zr-style" bumper. I really think it looks nice. I understand the lines are sharper, but with a more aggressive hood and the door flares I think it adds some "definition/edginess" the otherwise smoother/rounder C5 lines.

Just wanted to get some feedback before I send it in to get sprayed.

OK, you asked. The low spoiler shown in the pic above is not bad, although I prefer something like the SLP spoiler. Unless you need a high rise rear spoiler for something like track use, I see it as detracting from the car. As far as the ZR-style front fascia and front quarter panels, they are not my personal favorites as it looks like you're trying to bring C6 styling to an already gorgeous C5 body style. The C5 was designed to have softer lines and perhaps that is why many consider its style a classic. Of all the aftermarket front fascias out there, I thing the Tiger Shark goes best on the C5. The side skirts seem to go well with the car.

But you are the only one that has to be happy with any mods you make to the body of your C5 so you can take my comments with a grain of salt if you like. I do think your car looked great in the second pic.

There is someone on here that was selling a very nice lip spoiler , I think it can even be installed with 3M tape , the spoiler in the second pic I don't like it very much especially since you have the ZR bumper. I actually love the ZR bumper that you have on your car but the reason I wont get it is the same reason
Vetteman Jack mentioned.. trying to bring a C6 look into a C5 !Same reason won't put Z06 side scoops on my FRC is like trying to make it look like a Z06 but it is not !

I've always got an opinion. Ditch the bug eye light covers, keep the body work, and add the JKS custom spoiler. I have the same one and love the look. Same color as body and it's not overwhelming to the rear. Be careful of placement; too far up or back and it's screwed up. Use the templates and follow instructions closely. It will fit on top of bumper fascia and give you about half-inch to open and shut rear hatch. If possible get someone with good eyes to help you light it up and mark the drill points. Don't measure twice and cut once, that good enough for this job. Set it in place, hold it, measure it and then do ir all over again. After you 100% sure you're on target then let the other guy set, measure it and mark it. When you both have the same point then you drill.

GOOD LUC . ... post pics when done.

And the wing would be for WHAT purpose? Grab handle to close the trunk?

In my opinion.... No on the spoiler and I also feel that the head lights take away all the work you have done.

I can't offer an opinion because you stated this: ( I was thinking a square gt style wing would look cool, but I really prefer an understated look )
What you have done already contradicts what you stated above. I'm not trying to be a smart ***...
I can't offer you what I consider to be an understated look, since your car , in my opinion is already overstated... My input would be worthless to you... other then I don't like spoilers.. they are dysfunctional to street cars, and create too much drag which you pay for at the gas pump.
Its just my opinion, which you asked for.. I don't like the lights or the front end. The side skirts are ok, I like a lip spoiler, but too delicate for a lowered C5 application.

I will be brutally honest with my personal opinions, in an attempt to be helpful.

Not a fan of that C6 looking front end (I personally think the lines are wrong/overstated for a C5 and makes the front end look just a bit too large/disproportionate with the rest of the car), I don't care for the frog eye headlights....and since you have both of those already, the spoiler pictured would be a mistake IMO.

It would make your C5 look further mis-matched (overstated). That spoiler pictured doesn't go with the lines of the ZR front bumper, nor does it look like it was made for the lines of the C5 IMO. A big GT style wing is also a huge no-no, IMO, unless you truly need down-force functionality at the track.

If you're going to do a spoiler, I personally think the Caravaggio, Carbon Creations or ACI spoilers look best. They are much more "understated" and go better with the lines of a C5. Even the little stick on SLP spoiler would look better IMO.

Have fun with the project and post pics when done!

Beautiful car except for the headlights and the wing. Just my opinion.

Wow funny you ask.

When I first got my c5 it had the same exact spoiler you have.

After months of thinking if I wanted to remove it or not, I finally decided too.

And I like it 1000x more and I was able to sell the spoiler for 250$

Here's what mine looks like now.

Hope this helps, but yes lose the wing.

Since you asked, forget the spoiler. Remove the frog eye lights and dump the front. Then your car will look much better to me.

I don't know why I never listen to anybody. Sometimes I get so focused on an idea I become blind to perspective. I almost cannot stand to look at my car now because of how upset it makes me regretting what I did to my beautiful car. I am very disappointed in the way this turned out.

It's so frankenstein I think the only thing to do now is add window rails then maybe some c3 style widebody rear fenders.

too late to fret>>>>>a C5 in my opinion looks best as a C5......that means complete with pop up lights , no spoiler etc....IMO. otherwise it becomes something its not.

Not a wing man, but those don't look bad. I've seen wheels on here that made the car look worse than those do.

I say go for it if you like it.

That's not the first spoiler you showed. If you would have lost the lights and went back to pop ups and used the first spoiler it would have looked fine.

I think it's those lights that's the problem myself. The rest of it is fine.
