I had my 04 baby delivered yesterday with a couple new scratches on the driver side door. Any body experts on what the cost would be to repair? 3 deeper scratches approx 2. 5 inches long, 8 inches to the left of the driver door handle. Bummed me out but excited to have the car and be part of the Corvette group.
Are the scratches through the clear coat or thru the base paint? If not thru the base paint---it could be possibly buffed out to some degree.
Does the scratch have an edge that you can feel with a fingernail-at right angle to the length of the scratch? If not-the scratch doesn't go thru the clear coat.
What color is the paint? Metallic or non metallic paint? Let's see some pictures.

Option "B" take it to a local detailer. see what they charge..
Don't take it to a "body shop" they will insist on painting it. (that's what they do)
If indeed it is bad....
If it's just in the clear. easy fix.
If it's into the color. hard fix. you can make it better, a lot of work later you will
probably still see it. color will tell all.(might be livable)
If it's into the primer, Nothing your going to do will hide it. paint is about the best option. I've never seen one that I was happy with...but, I'm picky...
And if you do end up needing to paint it, take time to find a really good shop. Few years back my '95 M3 got rear ended badly. Had clear coat starting to go on the passenger door top edge, had them re-paint the door. This was a shop that did all the cars for the local MB and BMW dealers and knew what they were doing. They perfectly matched the 16yr old Bright Red paint with zero blending. Same with the trunk and rear wing. Perfect. One of my Sons used another place on his car to save money, his clear coat started failing 4 years later,....
To be completely fixed it looks like a fill/paint. If your ok with making them much less noticeable ( but they will still be there ) have somebody buff the area.
go to a body shop and ask them... make sure the estimate is no cost.. asking people here is like asking what it will cost for brain surgery...without a cat scan.
You can also go to a detail shop and ask them if they can make it disappear.. they will say yes or no... if yes , ask what they will charge.. if no.. find a reputable body shop.
Well, in the first place, those are not scratches, they are cracks. Being cracks, there was a cause for them. You need to try to find out how they happened to know what a true fix for them would be, however, repainting the door will be required to truly fix it.

Sorry, but that's the way I see it going.

Those do not look like scratches to me. I'd say you're going to have to have the door sanded, the cracks repaired and then the door painted. Best of luck to you.
That's more than scratches, Looks like a bad repair job, You said you just got the car, Was this not disclosed to you?
It was not disclosed. It was not there when I bought the car from Chevrolet dealership in Kenosha. I questioned the driver who showed me his inspection sheet which had the scratches/cracks noted prior to being loaded. My guess is it caught a car door at the dealership between the time I bought it and the time it was picked up a week later by the carrier. I called the dealership and told them I would be taking the Vette to a local Chevy dealership for repair and they would pay the bill. They are refusing to take any responsibility or help in any way. I have limited recourse at this point. Any suggestions?

Did you take any photos at the dealership when you went to buy it? If so, that could prove the scratches/cracks were not there at that time.

I didnt have any pics from the dealership. It didn't cross my mind that I would need them. It was damaged in the lot at the dealership. They know it and so does the salesperson. It comes down to integrity.

They took advantage of the fact that I wasn't there to inspect it prior to it being picked up by the shipping company.
