Default Underhood LED Light

Has anyone installed Radioflyer's or Corvettemods? I like that RF is an actual direct replaecment bulb. Any pics would be appreciated...

Direct replacement is correct and ours use 3 super-bright CREE XP-E LEDs:

I installed the hood light from The Radioflyer. It is super easy to install and it's very bright. It puts out a lot of light without having to alter anything. Worth it!

I put an LED bulb under the hood, it does not shut off with the timer, only dims down when the hood is open.

Interesting.

For theradioflyer - is this the way it works all the time or should it shut off after the 10-15 minute delay built into the car's electrical system?

I have a lot of my bulbs that are affected by the timer replaced with LED's. I think that it takes longer for them to shut off now because they are drawing less current from the RAP circuit. But since they are drawing less power it hasn't concerned me.

We have noticed no issue with the time-delay circuit and have not had this issue reported by customers.

I have the "rectangular one with the loops on the end" and I ruined it the first time - trying to solder on some loops in order to adapt it to the brass tangs that held in the OEM light (which of course face the wrong direction). Any tips so I don't mess up another?

sorry to threadjack, but where does the factory wiring for the underhood light come from? I traded my aftermarket hood (without a light) for a stock one and can't see where the wiring harness plugs into.

The stub harness that comes from the socket (I assume you got that with the hood) plugs into the main front wiring harness at connector C113, which appears to be right next to where the cables for the passenger side headlight split off.
If you work backwards from the headlight, you'll probably run right into it: you're looking for an empty 2-conductor connector.

I have an Oznium LED array installed in mine... does the same thing - always on very dim after timeout. Never been a problem, but I drive the car everyday.

The Radioflyer bulb works just like the factory bulb, when it shuts off it is totally off.

I tried the Corvettemods and after a couple months one night I noticed that they weren't working I took of the lens and found it filled with all the diodes!!! Don't know for certain but maybe the engine heat effected them. Can you tell me where I can get some of the "3 super-bright CREE XP-E LEDs". I'd like to give them a try.

no, the cargo lights use forward-firing 194 bulbs

You can get the whole interior package with these LEDs here:
