Went to drive home last night and noticed that my headlights would not turn on. My brights would not turn on either. If I flash my brights, they will work as long as I am pulling the lever.
All other lights work.
My lights are locked in the up position.
Hopefully somebody knows what is causing this. Thanks
Several years ago I had a similar issue, my lights would rise up but not turn on (light up) but they did light up if I flashed them. My problem turned out to be the multifunction switch went bad. I replaced it and all is well.

What is it? Where is it located? How much? I have same issues as you
I often have to clean the grounds on the frame rail on both sides... the harnesses that are behind the headlights.. They are easily accessible when the hood it up. Good luck with your troubleshooting.
IF you diagnosis the MF is the culprit here is guidance.
Now, I would like to know if you have Twilight Sentinel and if you do will it turn on the lights if it is dark or you block the sensor at the drivers side defrost vent.
Hi Guys, new here, well been lurking around for a while but now I need help. Im having the same issue, sort of. looks like all the power is not going to the low beam and the rest might be going to the high beam. sorry if i dont make sense, i have a picture so you guys can see. i took off the the MF switch and tried to make the repair but didn't fix anything. when i switch to high beam, only the driver side HB turns on.

Have you checked the fuses? There are four. If you try and use the "Flash to Pass" feature what happens? Do you have Twilight Sentinel? If so what happens when it is dark outside?
When did this start happening or did you buy the car this way?
Had the car for a few years, started a few months but was no big deal as I don't drive much at night. But now with the time change its a different story. When I use flash to pass does the same as if I were to put in high beam mode. I do not have the twilight sentinel and have not checked fuses. Guess I can check them this week but for what I've read it seems its going to be the MF switch

The multifunctional switch is the left hand controller for the lights and cruse control. There are several writeups on how to fix it and/or replace it. At the time I replaced mine it cost $100 for the part.

To make sure I correctly understand, you have NO low beams and only the driver high beam even when you use flash to pass. Is this
correct?
If your fuses are good we may want to make sure your bulbs are good as the next diagnostic.
A problem MF switch would NOT affect just one headlight since it has just one wire coming out of it to feed each circuit. Each wire later splits into 2 fuses for each side of the car for a total of 4 fuses.
G101 is for the driver side headlights and G102 is for the passenger side. I don't think it would be a ground issue on the drivers side since the high beam works. These grounds serve other circuits also so I don't think they are the problem. Never hurts to check, checking is free.

Hey guys, sorry been a long week with new years and all. Happy 2015, so trying to work on the car today. I checked fuses and all low beam and high beam are good. Cleaned the grounds and still nothing. So when I use flash to pass only the driver side low beam and high beam work. High beam mode only driver side high beam works. I'm starting to think its the MF switch but damn I don't want to buy one.
Are you sure when you use flash to pass both the high and low beam on the drivers side light?????
When you use flash to pass, ONLY the high beams are activated by design.
When are you going to check the bulbs in the passenger side?
If headlights are off then only HB turns on, if the lights are on, then both low beam and high beam turn on. Bulbs were the first thing checked, they are good
OK, I think we need to discuss this issue. A bad MF switch does not explain everything going on. I want to focus on getting the passenger side HB going like the driver side and then we can address everything else. It will be easier to discuss on the phone but you will need to know how to use a Multimeter to measure resistance and voltage or have a friend who can. Just PM me with your number.
