Default Code help

Hi guys and Happy New Year.

Just looking for some opinions:

Throwing a PO155C code - P0155 Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Heater Circuit Bank 2 Sensor 1

I know thats the sensor before the cats / passenger side.

I'm just wondering what the code actually means -
No headers on this car / just a Corsa Extreme at this point -
I can clear the code - cleared started the car and it was ok for maybe 5 minutes - showed up again cleared it again and as of last night did not come back. I'm about to go out and check again now.

I've checked the #15 fuse already - and that looks fine.

Is the general consensus to replace all 4 sensors? and any ideas what this error actually means?

Thanks in advance

With a little more research I may have answered my own question - my assumption is I need to replace it Found this thought I would share.

What does that mean? This code refers to the front oxygen sensor on Bank 2. The heated circuit in the oxygen sensor decreases time needed to enter closed loop. As the O2 heater reaches operating temperature, the oxygen sensor responds by switching according to oxygen content of the exhaust surrounding it. The ECM tracks how long it takes for the oxygen sensor to begin switching. It the ECM determines (based on coolant temp) that too much time elapsed before the oxygen sensor began operating properly, it will set P0155. See also: P0135 (Bank 1). Potential Symptoms You will likely notice poor fuel economy the illumination of the MIL. Causes A code P0155 may mean that one or more of the following has happened: O2 Heater element resistance is high Internal short or open in the heater element O2 heater circuit wiring high resistance open or short to ground in the wiring harness Possible Solutions Repair short or open or high resistance in wiring harness or harness connectors Replace oxygen sensor (cannot repair open or short that occurs internally to sensor)

I do not change out any other O2 sensor than the one that is a problem on a car. If the car is very high mileage and you don't like getting underneath it you could chose to replace them all.

Thanks for the reply.
I cleared the code and took the car out this morning for abo is why didut 45 minute drive and its not come back yet.
It has just a little over 50k on the odometer.

So now the perplexing thing is why did it throw the code and now its not?

Replace both front O2 sensors and go with the newer style AcDelco ones -

Never just replace one - not recommended at all -

How many miles on the O2 sensors?

They should be replaced at 60,000 miles, which is what is recommended. But some do fail at different intervals.

Thanks,Matt

We're looking at about 53K so it looks like we're due.

Thought I would finish the thread.
Both sensors replaced w/ AC Delco's - code cleared.

Looks like the guy who owned the car before me cheaped out and used Denso's

Real PITA job - I do suggest using a O2 sensor socket.

Oh, and the the GM engineer that decided to place these sensors where he did - you couldn't have moved them around a few degrees so you actually have some room to work ?

Glad it worked out for you!

Usually the sensors are placed nearest the #7 and #8 exhaust outlet/port for more accurate readings.

Again, glad it is up and running again!

Thanks,Matt
