Does anyone have or tried a CR water system? It claims to leave NO water spots and no need to dry after rinse. I think member Patches installed one at his new house, anyone have any comments on this system. Thanks,L8R ZFLASH
I looked in to some of those as I have REALLY hard water, but looked like a maintenance/upkeep nightmare - and the harder your water, the more maintenance time/cost.
I ended up getting one of those insecticide 2 gallon hand-pump sprayers and I fill it with distilled water from the grocery store (about $3 out here) and use that as a final rinse - no spots. Of course, I only wash my C5 a couple times a year as I wipe it down every night.
I have hard, irony well water at my house and was concerned about washing my vette with it. I ended up getting the no rinse car wash soap, and that has worked great for me. I will probably try the Chadwick system this spring/summer, which is similar. I fill up a 5g bucket from the faucet inside the house, where the water is treated, and use that with the no rinse. The no rinse requires a lot less water, so this works for me.
I have been using the CR Spotless system now for a year and a half and I am very happy with it. The hard, mineral-heavy water in my neck of the woods was destroying the finish on my cars so this was a good, long-term solution for me. even frequent polishing and the use of protectants wasn't cutting it. It's somewhat expensive, depending on how often you wash your car and how bad the contamination is, but the alternative is not cheap either.
Here's the thread I posted about the intial installation.

Interesting way to rinse the car. Good that it works well for you.

It look me a couple of years to rationalize buying a CR system. After the first use I was sure I made the correct decision and would do it again.
The system cut my wash routine time in half, from 3 hours to 1.5.
Hard water sucks! Especially if you own a dark colored car.
