Installed bilstein HD shocks today. Although not a huge difference
definitely a noticable improvement. Highly recommend them for
a low cost suspension improvement. $340 from tire rack and $300
from local tire store to install them
I'm curious why the HD and not the regular? Did you consider the Z06 shocks?
Research on the forum seemed to indicate that unless you
are tracking the car and have other suspension improvements
Hd is more appropriate for everyday driving than the sport shock
Did not consider the ZO6 shocks, had read good things about bilstein.

Well said. A good solid HD is best for everyday driving.
The Bilstein is a great street shock and properly valved for the C5.
With my background in autocrossing and performance driving, I prefer a performance shock like the C6 Z06 OEM or the re-valved DRM Bilsteins.
The later which is currently installed on our Z.
Is this a setup for the track? Not IMO. I have no plans to use up my NT-05s soon.
If I was going to the track I'd find "track" shocks like dual adjustable QA1's. Which BTW can be set for a good street profile.

Good to hear I made the right decision from someone in the know
I also liked the informed opinions, because my car had the Hd shocks installed when I bought it.
I have been working shock information ever since. I now have gathered that the stock ride height works best, and my car is lowered. Looks cool, but I never had a sports car that understeered before. I can see the safety in setting the car that way, but it is a new approach for me. I guess I could raise it back for performance sake, but it looks cool lowered. I guess that is a Corvette problem.

When the front suspension bottoms out, it will understeer.
Crank it up in steps until the problem goes away.
Or you can cut down the bump stop found under the shock cover.
Just make sure your not bottoming out the shock by cutting down the bump stop too much

I put them on my car 3 years ago. Nice choice. Did it myself in the driveway. Very simple install.

Did you get an alignment after installing them?
My back would not allow a driveway installation, threw
around too many cases of milk in my career in the dairy industry.
