My tires on my '03 Z are ready for replacement and received replacement estimates that vary quite a bit. I'm going with factory 265/40/17s on the front and 295/35/18 on the rears. I have quotes on Goodyear Eagle 1s, and Bridgestone Potenzas. I run the car only in summer/fall and put on about 3 K per year. Any suggestions on these tires or others? Thanks
I'm getting close myself. Do a search here, plenty of other options so long as you are OK going up or down one size front (usually) or back.
The Supercars and Michelin tires are costly. The Potenzas are not as popular with some.
Nitto NT05, BFG KDW and others will pop up on your search.
I went with the Bridgestone Potenza RE760 last year. I also do around 3000 miles per year. Some spirited driving, no real racing or track. I like the tires. So much quieter than the GYs. Also, as you said much cheaper. They also look good on the car as the size is same as factory stock.
ps2 is still available in 265/295 and really the best choice for traction, rain, comfort.
the goodyears cost as much as the ps2..actually a bit more and aren't as good
the re760 is below both but ages better than the supercar. the only problem with the 760 is unresponsive sidewalls, low limits and a compound that's not good in rain. then again the supercar is also very poor in rain
if i only drove 3k a year mostly dry i'd go 275/295 in nt05, little more noise but much higher limits and better dry traction

Went with the Nitto NT-05's last summer and love them. Got caught in a sh*t ton of rain going to NCM 20th Anniversary Celebration in BG and never had traction or hydroplaning issues (of course, I was driving carefully for the conditions).

If you hit heavy rain, drive safely and leave the nannies on, you'll be fine
