Both my driver and passenger side seats have broken tilt mechanisms. The driver seat will stay in place if your leaning against it but you can tilt it forward by just touching it. The same issue on the passenger side. How do I go about fixing this? I've searched around but all I'm finding is issues with how to fix the slipping rails.
Are you sure they're really broken? C5 seatbacks have a lot of fore/aft rocking motion. This is inherent in the design. Does the "tilted-back" stopping location repeat when you rock the seatback forward, and then aft again? Can you adjust that "tilted-back" location? When you do, does that readjusted, new "tilted-back" location now repeat? If the answer to these last 3 questions is yes, yes, yes, then I'm thinking nothing is wrong.
If I misunderstood, try removing one of the seats and posting a photo of the seat's underside. Perhaps I or someone else can help.
