Default Corvette pathologies?

So... Yesterday, we had 6.9 inches of snow that lasted ALL DAY! Temperatures fell all day during the snow down to 4 degrees by 6am this morning! Bad you ask!? Well, Im located in South Jersey about 28 miles wnw of Atlantic City n.j. It does snow here in March sometimes but rarely with this kind of intense cold. I got up this morning and peered out the back sliding door at my DD which is a CTS and my covered sleeping 99 Torch Red Targa top Vette.. I had to go food shopping and was dreading digging out the Caddy and running the snow blower. But after having my coffee I made my shopping list, bundled up and headed out into the cold. I haven t driven the Corvette for several weeks ever since Boston s snow seemed to migrate down the coast. It was 10 degrees and the wind was blowing.. Suddenly, as I stared at my covered obsession, I forgot all about digging the Caddy out. I began digging my Vette out! I knew in the back of my mind I wasn't going to drive it today but there I was, digging away. Carefully sweeping the snow off of it and digging a path towards the driveway. At some point, sanity returned and I turned to the Caddy. I bought the car in November and really haven't driven it much. So, I ask you, am I obsessed?! Is there an unhealthy pathology going on here? Hmmm... Next week its going to be in the 50s.. Time to play!!! Bruce

Obsessed - no, just anxious to get behind the wheel of a great car. Hopefully the weather breaks and you get some wheel time in the Vette.

I'm up in the very northwest corner of the state at 1000' above sea level (near High Point) and I haven't driven my car since October. I don't think I'll see my lawn until May even if it starts melting, the snow is so high. Unfortunately I have to walk past my car every day to go in and out, it sits there teasing me. At least this time, while you had 7" of snow this time we got only a couple.

There's still two feet of snow on the ground in southern CT> Its been so long since I've driven my Vette, I will peek under the car cover to see if the color changed!

Yes, I'm feeling the same way about 3 hrs north of New Jersey. The Snow just keeps coming and walking by my covered Vette in my garage it is teasing me. The best thing I can do is sit in the car and listen to my awesome stereo upgrade or watch a Dvd in the car. That helps to get me thru the winter.

That's not the only "Corvette pathology".

Judging by what I read on this forum, Corvette ownership will trigger any incipient OCD tendencies and raise them to sanity-threatening levels.

So far, 2015 has sucked on a daily basis. Upstate New York here and no end yet in sight for this winter from hell. Corvette and my Harley have been hibernating since November.

Yes the people population is noticeably increasing. So are the bears. I have less of a problem with them if you know how to live with them. My biggest fear came true when a bear showed up while I was BBQ'ing. Fortunately I was only grilling veggies at the time, meat was still inside. However, the scariest incident and you can choose to not believe me, but I had my wife there to back me up, last summer we had a mountain lion in our backyard. I thought that I was hallucinating.

I am not a member of any Vette clubs. I had enough after being in the North Jersey Street Rod Association for 30 years. Last fall, I did a double din Kenwood conversion. My timing was quite poor since by the time I finished it started snowing. I don't even remember when the last time I drove my car was.

You are not hallucinating! Although ive never seen one here in the pine barrens of South N.J., Friends of mine have inc a fish and game officer. They are here, never left, and with the pinelands commission keeping the urban sprawl out of the pine barrens, there are many other animals on the increase. Bears are increasingly more common down here. There is more room for them here than in North Jersey. But cougars? YES, definitely and they are on the increase. There is plenty of food here for them.. Lots of deer down to the lowly ground hog. We have quite a few Bobcats here too.. Bruce

Across the road from my house is 1600 acres of NJ Green Acres woods. Bobcats are common in there. The variety of wildlife we see regularly is amazing. Other than the mountain lion, the only thing that scares is mother bears with their cubs. We've had that several times. A few years ago we had Fish & Game with the state police in backyard shooting a bear out of a tree that was terrorizing the area destroying people's garbage cans. I keep mine in the garage.

Well, I guess that keeps him safe from trigger-happy F&G agents, but how do you keep him from pissing on the car?
