Hello all in Corvette land.
I am looking at installing a short throw shifter and would like any suggestions that you may have.
Currently looking at the MTI six shooter or a C6 shifter.
Thanks for your thoughts.
I have the mti shifter but haven't driven any of the other options besides stock. It's definitely better than stock but pretty pricey compared to a C6 shifter. My hunch is that the C6 option is better for a street car and the MTI unit is better for a track car. Shift effort on mine is pretty high and there is a resonant buzz around 4500 RPM but it's got very short, solid, precise throws. A tall **** would work better with it than the round one.
i recently purchased a b&m precision sport shifter from another member (GREAT transaction, very happy) i had a c6z in my car when i bought it, so the b&m just went in place of the oem c6 upper.
its rather hard to shift like troyguitar said takes effort to shift, but im using a round ball type ****, so im sure that doesnt help.
i could sell at any point and not loose money, BUT my advice to you is to physically feel and try someones shifter before you buy one. then you will have no questions, and prob save money in the long run.
