Your Oil Pressure Sending unit is probably the culprit. Mine went out all of sudden and the guage was maxed out. You can pull the intake off and change the sensor that way or you can cut through the windshield wiper cowl. Some have changed the sensor without removing anything but I removed my intake which is really simple and not hard to do at all.

The forum is filled with those that have taken this on as DIY, various approaches and opinions on what "should" be done, no surprise - at least three basic methods I've seen to replace it, or you can take a different tack and there are many kits available to relocate it to make it easier to replace later if you have to ... As usual the search function will serve you well.

I concur, sounds like your oil sending sensor as taken the proverbial crap. If you pull your intake...there are numerous things that can go wrong. They may not, you might pull it, do the sending unit, put the intake back in place and have no problems, but it could be opening Pandoras box.
I am a BIG believer in doing the Oil Sending Unit Relocate...where the sensor is located is a very hostile environment for it... lots of heat and vibration

This is NOT good on such a sophisticated little piece of electronics. So if you move it to a friendlier environment it should last MUCH longer... and if it does fail again, it's a 15 minute job to change it again. IMHO

Does sound like the oil pressure sensor has gone bad. If you would like a number of Word files that discuss replacement and/or relocation of the oil pressure sensor, PM me your e-mail address and I'll send them to you.
