Don't know of any deals right now, but I'll recommend getting a DieHard Platinum battery. Had one in my car for 4.5 years now and never a problem.

I have never really had a bad battery and I've had a lot of different brands in the last 45 years. Some have lasted longer than others.

Meh.... OEM Delco split and dumped its contents. Still under warranty at the time, so not exactly my problem. Running Sears Platinum. Amazed how long (6-8 weeks) I can leave it this time of year without use and it will still start.

Every manufacturer will have defective units. If they have too many they go out of business. The original Delco in my GMC pickup lasted 9 years. Who knows?

The record for me is 18 years in a 1981 Honda - OEM Yuasa battery.

There was apparently a bad batch of OEM Delco's - a number of people posted about them on here. And although I have a Sears Platinum, I was very wary before buying as my experience with Die Hards has been more like Die Too Soon. On our other vehicles, we run Walmart's MAXX batteries - top rated, good price and because of high turnover, pretty much new when you buy them.

Some folks claim Walmart batteries are crap, but my wife has one in her car that has made it through 5 Wisconsin winters and is still just fine. There are only a handful of battery manufacturers that make all the different brands and they have been making them for a long time, so they are pretty much the same.
